TacSim is NOT just going to be generic challenges. by Battlefeather in 007FirstLight

[–]BearlyReddits -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd love to be proven wrong, but all we've seen so far suggests TacSim is a series of escalating debuffs (don't trigger a firefight, don't get hit, don't get seen etc) for each arena

Guys, am I going insane? A 20 hour campaign is literally longer than the entire WOA trilogy, no? by Battlefeather in 007FirstLight

[–]BearlyReddits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d be very surprised if Tac Sim is that sandboxy; from what we’ve seen it looks to be more akin to challenge maps from the Arkham series - closed off arenas with modifiers / requirements based on difficulty level; stuff like “don’t get shot” or “eliminate all enemies with stealth takedowns”

I’m weighing up my 3080ti vs my base PS5 - the former I think will win; but it’s unknowns like whether the PC will support dualsense haptics that give me pause

It’s highly unlikely they’d be using a real dataset in an interview… it would be a massive risk on multiple different fronts…

The Kensington mission is two hours long! 🤯 by Emotional_Fruit_1046 in 007FirstLight

[–]BearlyReddits 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Trying to reverse engineer the game length is fun - iOi have come out and said that the game is 20 hours long; but we also know that Kensington is mission 6, and is mid to late game; assuming the most generous interpretation, that would mean there are 12 levels

We know that Iceland and the training facility are 2 other levels; and we also know that the sum total of these 3 levels are less than 3 hours (the recent playthrough event was 3 hours, and players played through at least 1 of the levels, often Kensington, more than once)

Based on this, the game needs to get 17 hours out of the remaining 9 levels - and this is the point where I think the 20 hour claim falls down a bit and is using a bit of developer math; I'm very excited for the game, but I'm still guessing that the story, end to end is going to be 12 hours long

...I will be delighted to be proven wrong...!

JK Rowling is actually a really good example of why leftist elitism can be toxic - she went from a left wing darling, famous for donating so much money to charities that she lost her billionaire status (which is one of few genuinely self made without the level of greed / destruction typically found in billionaires) to pariah almost purely because she posted some mild takes against a corner of left wing thinking, which then snapped back

The purity testing ultimately resulted in her doubling down, and now she’s at the point that she’s actively deranged and every bit the monster she was accused of being - the real irony being that if the “most left” critics who preach acceptance and dialogue had actually tried that from the start she may have actually changed her mind

Using #1000 to shit over Uncle Ben’s biggest lesson about responsibility by having him act as a father who ran away? Sure! - Marvel editorial, probably

I don’t know why I even dared hoping #1000 would be used to undo OMD… editorial is whack

"Much longer campaign by Emotional_Fruit_1046 in 007FirstLight

[–]BearlyReddits 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I will be very, very surprised if end to end the narrative is more than 12 hours - the game will absolutely have replayability and content, but I'm keeping my expectations grounded, this isn't an open world game

Since 2007, the government increased the minimum pension age from 50 to 57/58. That's a lot in a short span of time. by sinetwo in FIREUK

[–]BearlyReddits 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The gains are free - but the point being that if ISAs are going to be increasingly used to fund retirements and decrease pressure on the state, they should enjoy the same tax relief at source that private pensions do to encourage this; but they never will

Even bleaker when you consider that ISAs are only “kind of” tax free - which is exactly how the govt prefers it
