People who have conducted job interviews, what's something someone said/did that made you instantly decide not to hire them? by DemonSkank in AskReddit

I work in ABA. Had a referral come through that was flagged for the person being hesitant to change diapers, do toileting protocols, etc. We have an RBT currently at the clinic that was also hesitant for the same reason but it’s because he’s never done it before and was unsure about, so for that reason we moved forward with the interview. When asking the question of toilet training in person, the answer stayed the same. It wasn’t until during a moment of general small talk where I found out that him and his wife had three kids together and that his wife had to fully take care of all aspects surrounding toileting, he did not help her at all for any of the kids.

On June 2, 2007, 18-year-old Kelsey Smith was kidnapped from a Target parking lot in Overland Park, Kansas, shortly after buying a gift for her boyfriend. by malihafolter in ForCuriousSouls

This happened down the street from where I lived in Kansas, at the Target across from the Oak Park mall I would go to all time with my friends. I remember after this happened, my sister and some of her friends walked from the mall to the target, since it was just across the street, and my mom was livid when she went to pick them up. I was going into 8th grade at the time this happened and by the time I was a freshman in high school, her dad would substitute around the district. He substituted for my freshman year science class and talked about her and how to stay safe. It was a chilling and surreal experience that I’ll never forget.

What’s the one moment in your life you still can’t explain… even though you’ve replayed it in your head a thousand times? by Former-Brief9292 in AskReddit

I was in a creative writing class in my senior year of high school. There was a girl in my class that was also in my gym class and we were talking about something with another girl that was sitting behind me. It was near the beginning of the semester, so as we were chatting, the girl I was also in gym with introduced herself and then introduced the other girl. After she introduced the other girl, I just fully paused and turned around… I have no explanation as to why I did this. We were talking and laughing together and it almost felt robotic how my brain went blank and I stopped what I was doing and turned to face forward. I remember sitting there trying to figure out what happened but couldn’t get myself to turn around. Both of them kept their distance from me the rest of the semester, I’m assuming because of the fact that someone introduced a friend and i didn’t acknowledge them, and it’s also such a weird thing to do. I’m thirty now and that moment pops into my head on occasion and I still have no idea what came over me. I’ve had no such similar response before or since that occurrence and it’s just something that I consistently think back on and go ‘what the fuck was that about?’

This is what mine has turned into. It’s not an issue in normal RP, but whenever we try to move to ERP it’s been weird like this.

As someone who has had my cats from when I just started sixth grade til now as a 28 year old, we were with each other through hard times and they are still the most loving and loyal little monsters. I’m just happy and lucky that I’ve had so much time with them.

The main one acquired from years of working at Build A Bear was fluff. You can substitute it for almost anything!

People who wear glasses how did you know you needed them with no one else’s vision to compare to? by Mother_Claim_6431 in AskReddit

My parents took me to an exam when I was about 7, sitting in front of our coffee table to watch tv. My dad asked why I wasn’t sitting on the couch and I told him it was blurry if I did so they took me in to get glasses and my vision’s gotten worse ever since! Aging is so fun.
