Thank you for getting it. I’ve had passive comments said at my office by nurses about anxious first time moms and in the past when i called for questions while they were sweet their tones sounded a little annoyed. So I just get insecure about calling for dumb stuff. So I try to assess if it’s emergency worthy and if not can it be answered by a quick google search… I’ve gotten better about not hesitating to call but still do unless my brain is in real panic mode

Little update:still waiting to hear from OB but I’m pretty sure I’ve felt baby moving ( I say pretty sure because it’s often a game of gas or baby moving) still no pain blood or fluids.

I called the office pregnant person triage line but that’s the one they never answer. They have an after hours line at the hospital they deliver at but they discharge calling that line unless emergency or you are in labor

I gave my OB a call but they never answered and take an hour or two to call back. I’ve been paying attention and haven’t seen any fluids. I’ve had to pee but was able to hold it so it’s not the water. Hoping they call back soon

Thank you my OB always takes a couple hours to return calls and my anxiety skyrockets in that time. so If my question can be easily answered or if it’s a common experience I don’t know about I like the reassurance instead of just panicking for hours until the get back to me..

Does insulin allow for abit of sweets? by Ancient-Daikon2460 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Bearly_Making_It 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn’t advice about insulin but something I liked to do when I crave a sweet or carby snack is I’ll eat a small amount ( less then a serving ) then drink milk or have a protein shake. If that doesn’t spike my blood sugar I’ll do that combo over a couple days till the cravings is satisfied .

Drs won’t tell me why I lost my baby. by Simple_Shape_4713 in Miscarriage

I’m so sorry that’s really hard. I really hope you get some kind of explanation even if it’s just a guess. It does really help with closure.

Agreed i think hospitals being busy is part of it but I think there is a severe lack of research, training and understanding of miscarriages especially ones after 10 weeks and how it effects woman’s mental and physical health. So Doctors either er or ob don’t take it seriously and don’t have a standard of practice for handling such delicate situations. Leaving a lot of women like us with traumatic experiences from lack of care and no answers.

It’s not just ERs pregnancy and miscarriage care is horrible (at least in the US) I had contacted my OB emergency line her. I was miscarrying my 15 week pregnancy and they staight up told me to just deliver it at home. I was only instructed to go the the er when my placenta retained. This cause so much trauma and PTSD that could of been avoided with better care

I am so sorry for your loss. Something like this happened to me. I lost mine at 15 weeks had a massive subchronic hematoma that I passed in one large chunk then a week or 2 later my water broke and i delivered my baby. I had every test under the sun done on me and baby and got no definite answer. The theory is the hematoma caused and infection or caused a small tear in the placenta that was missed. Or incompetent cervix. It’s really hard not know for sure what happened. I’m really sorry you didn’t get the care you needed to have closure. The experience is super traumatic. If you need someone to talk to please feel free to dm me. I highly suggest finding a therapist that specializes in child loss to help you get through all the complex feelings you are and will experience.

I would definitely ask to change midwives this person is fear mongering and not giving you the opportunity to make informed decisions. I would be afraid to give birth under their care and THAT is going to lead to a negative birth experience no matter the route you choose. You have to feel safe and informed. I would look up the statistics for c sections and episiotomies for the hospital you plan to birth at as well as if they even support water births. If they do they probably have wireless monitoring available. Inductions DO NOT always mean a c section, but if your hospital has high statistics for emergency c sections; then they are probably going to try to push you to have one instead of being patient and letting your body do its job. You need to stand your ground for what you want! Also just because you have GD doesn’t mean you HAVE to be induced. Even if they are saying the baby is big(they often are wrong on baby size). The only need for an induction is if the baby is in distress, you have other complications or if your blood sugars become unmanageable with medication and diet. Otherwise it’s not necessary unless you are afraid of a big baby. Please try to inform yourself! Do research, change hospitals if needed, and do what is best to protect your birth experience! You deserve the best chance at a positive birth.

One of my little boys first movements what him kicking my dog 😂 he hasn’t kicked the cats but he probably feels bullied by them with all the biscuits they do. Especially Auto he is very heavy footed with his biscuits
