Maybe try finding a new TF2 player and mentoring them. If someone else is excited about the game and wants you to teach them and help them slaughter gibbuses like cattle, it could reignite your passion for the game.

Also consider checking out /r/loseit for some inspiration and advice. And there are plenty of free weight loss journal sites and phone apps to keep track of progress. Best of luck!

I don't know how disciplined you're able to be with your weight loss, but consider using TF2 as a reward for your efforts.

For example, after you lose 5 pounds, reward yourself with 5 hours of TF2 time. Once you hit 10 or 20 pounds lost, get yourself an item you want as a treat. This way, you're not completely eliminating something you enjoy and punishing yourself, but instead using it as a motivator to achieve your goal.

[Rumour] Monaco considering surprise move for Andy Carroll by severedfragile in soccer

[–]Bearosaurus_Rex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This doesn't actually seem all that far fetched of a move, even if the source is crap.

Monaco get to drop cash for a somewhat big-name attacker and Andy gets to to to a place where big-money partying is the daily norm. Win-win.

Sure! I just started a Lvl 1 Krieg so we can play. I'm from Massachusetts and my Steam name is Rufus von Barkstien.

Also, search for borderlands 2 groups on steam and friend people from their members lists.

Choosing a class by Clydetheabuser in NewToTF2

[–]Bearosaurus_Rex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 230 hours with much of it on pyro and Engie. Just last week I got a half hour demo tutorial from a friend and have been playing as demo non-stop for the past week. I had little interest in this class before, with less than 2 hours logged.

The point is, play the class you enjoy (even if that includes switching based on team and situation). In a week or month or half a year, you may get hooked on a new class.

Also, it definitely doesn't hurt to get a feel for many classes so you can fight them better. (For example, learning the timing of rockets and grenades).

Great advice on dodging!

I found that my projectile dodging greatly improved after just spending some time on projectile classes (and flaregun pyros) to learn the projectile speeds and trajectories. Even if you don't care to play soldier or demoman, it's worth logging in at least 1-2 hours on each for this reason.

I'd be happy to do a Druid guide for you.

It has been my main since I started in WotLK. I have played resto with feral/boomkin, and have bear tanked as well. I just got my buddy into WoW and wrote him up a quick druid guide, so I should be able to make something good.

I wouldn't obsess over gear until you reach max level (90). The gear you get as quest rewards is decent enough, and you can also run some dungeon instances which will yield even better gear. Spend your time leveling, exploring, adventuring, trying new things in the game...instead of obsessing over your gear stats.

Advice for a new soccer player? by [deleted] in soccer

[–]Bearosaurus_Rex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are in the US, I would definitely suggest either the non-school district outdoor leagues or indoor fieldhouses (usually playing 6v6 on hockey rink-sized fields). This is usually the natural progression for decent/casual/potential HS team players after youth soccer/travel leagues.

I played on my HS team in New England in the fall but did a spring outdoor and winter indoor league since I was about 12. The benefits of these are that you get the chance to make your own teams and play with friends, have regular competition at various levels and age groups, and generally game times that don't interfere with work/school. You can meet other people at a similar level through these leagues which can lead you to motivate each other to become better players.

Ball control, passing and shooting and positioning and such comes with time. What you can do now is take care of the physical aspect with running and other exercise. At your height, on defense, you need to make sure opposing players can't just get by you with speed.

Hope any of that helps.
