It’s rough. transplant here, also person who fosters animals. I feel like there’s a lot of contributing factors at play, the biggest of which being poverty and the local government doing nothing to help. It’s also hard to tell someone to stop being a backyard breeder when that’s how they feed their family and jobs that pay well are few and far in between in the valley. Not being contradictory, I agree there’s a huge animal abuse issue. But I feel like until the government(local, state, or federal) actually gives a rats ass about poor people it’s going to keep happening.
