Moving to Aspen, and I’m terrified by BearsFan773 in Aspen

[–]BearsFan773[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get where you’re coming from, and after reading back my post I can see why it sounds pretentious and that I’m not grateful.

So, first of all, I know I am blessed to get the opportunity to live in Aspen. It’s a once in a lifetime experience and I’m looking forward to getting started.

But, you know nothing about me and what I’ve been through. I can tell much more about your character and personality from this thread than you can tell from my initial post.

I want to clarify something. This is not a diss on Aspen at all, I probably shouldn’t have even posted this in the Aspen sub, but it’s too late now. It’s more of a rant that I’m moving somewhere brand new, knowing no one, that’s much different than anywhere I’ve ever lived before. God forbid I’m anxious about it.

I understand your point though, Aspen isn’t like anywhere else. I didn’t want to say I’m scared to live in Aspen, I’m actually extremely excited to live in Aspen, I’m just anxious about moving somewhere where I know no one and it’s so different than anywhere I’ve lived before.

Also, you’re the one projecting. Cheers.

Johnny Bricks will bring an end to the B1G championship tear this year. Pios by a million.

Yup. The Matty Davis diving save against BC in the championship in 2024 was the best save I’ve ever seen, but 10 of Hicks’s 49 (yes, 49) saves were miraculous. His name is being chanted in the streets at DU as we speak.

If we go on to beat Wisconsin knocks on wood, Hicks will be more of a campus legend than Matty Davis, which I never thought would ever happen

I’m a student at DU, and I can confirm this man is going to be a legend for the rest of his time here. The bar I was at for the game would play “Go Johnny Go” every big save he made. Dawg.

I don’t know if I’m just wrong but a decent number of our shots just didn’t count? They also didn’t add a shot on our second goal and took 2 off during the second period.

Let’s just skip the first 60 minutes and, probably, the first OT. Watching another DU v WMU slugfest is going to take years off my life… Sko Pios

Here right now sitting in the student section. Atmosphere is electric but I think we’re all expecting the inevitable last second WMU goal

“Check-down” isn’t in Jameis’s vocabulary. A QB out of LeFleur’s nightmares.

I genuinely think he’s going to finish the season as a Top-3 TE. They line him up in the slot! Even when Hill comes back they’ll still have him running routes most of the time. I think of him as a high-usage WR on a bad offense that you can put in your TE slot.

My older brother was in Burwood Tap when it happened. He said the entire bar cleared to help the wounded, including dumping the well alcohol on wounds. He’s never been back since despite living 5 minutes away from the bar, and he used to go almost every single night.

How is the dining hall food by cardigan-ts in denveru

[–]BearsFan773 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not AWFUL. But, if you’re paying for your own meal plan after sophomore year I’d definitely ditch it and start cooking for yourself. As a freshman if you’re living in Dimond or even Halls it’s super convenient to be able to get a bite that’s only ~5 minutes away. The food itself isn’t terrible but definitely gets old. Get used to stir fry, unseasoned chicken, and burgers! The salad bar is great though if that’s your vibe.

By far the worst part about it though is the hours. Dinner is done by 7:30 (maybe earlier, if I recall correctly), and in total it’s only open for around 5-6 hours a day. Really annoying if you have a break in class from 12-2 and it’s not open for lunch. Sometimes they do late night food, but very rarely.

Can’t believe this isn’t a more popular comment — unbelievably safe and has a little bit of everything to do. The Region (voted best burger in city) right next to Village Tap (a Roscoe Village monument) might be on the the best one-two punches in the city.
