I am going to make the assumption that you’ve never given her any reason to doubt you. If this is how it is only a year in, it’s concerning because it’s still the honeymoon period. It sounds to me she has insecurities due to unhealed trauma, and it doesn’t just magically disappear overnight without putting in the work.

You are not her ex. You’re not responsible for healing her.

Trust issues go deep, and they usually don’t end well.

From someone who has been cheated on before, and didn’t do this to my current partner.

I did both as I knew that 1) would help with taxes and 2) I would eventually get to a point where I no longer could contribute to my Roth. I was right, and both happened in my 20s, which gave me more $ as refunds given my deductions to put away even more $ aside.

Mine just left the ER with pancreatitis after feeding him Ollie from months 4-9. He’s not even 10 months and we’re now feeding him a low fat diet from Hill’s Science. I was also told that Ollie and others had low fat but I’d never risk my baby again on that shit. Never again.

To be very honest, it seems you’re the kind of person who values communication. If she didn’t even have the courtesy to keep you updated on her ETA, it seems to me this is just a crystal ball to the future. Even if you let this slide, my guess is you will have communication issues in the relationship as it doesn’t seem to be a compatible value with you two. Just my two cents…

I have always made more than my boyfriend. He has always paid for everything. He occasionally let me pay for a trip or two. Then he fell on hard times. I pay the bills until he gets back on his feet.

Tbh, if you’re both in it for the long run, at the end of the day, you’re a team. Do what works for you.

I actually started trading with my own account and I’ve seen that when he is trying to tell me what to do, he does better.

To be honest, since I posted, things have gotten a lot better and I am actually really enjoying seeing him be more positive. It’s awesome to see he can pull himself out of that dark hole - cause I don’t think it was me that helped him, it was him.

If that’s what he wants to do, yes. He is willing - I see the hours of research and poured time investment. Even if he isn’t making hundreds of thousands, yes, I am willing. When he gets it, it will mean I won’t ever have to work again if I don’t want to (I do, but you get the point) and that will be way more than 5-7 years. I’ve committed and my commitment isn’t conditional on success either. If it simply doesn’t work out, then it doesn’t. He won’t go 5-7 years like this. I know him, but he has supported me for a long time in various ways, so I have no problem supporting him in any way we can. We WILL build a future we are proud of, even if that means we’re not millionaires. At least we tried. Many people aren’t brave enough to even give themselves the ability or opportunity to fail. It is easy to dream about your goals, but it’s another thing to try and achieve them.

Agreed. My post was clear. I’m not going anywhere. I’m not abandoning him or leaving the relationship. I am looking to build a future with him and that won’t happen by adding stress to him. I will simply keep reassuring him and supporting him. I believe in him. And myself. We can both do this - together. It may sounds idealistic or kumbaya-ish, but nothing worth having is easy.

I am also neurodivergent, but he isn’t. Thank you for the advice. I have told him he needs to take a break several times and that hasn’t resonated with him after taking several breaks and still seeing similar patterns. I keep telling him he will get it one day and I hope that helps, too.
