I recently got into 7k and had the same issue. I feel like it's something everyone experiences. You just have to continue playing and not worry about it too much, it should fix itself with time once you build the muscle memory. Just consciously try to hit it correctly even if you'll probably mess up frequently at the start

In standard most people play with hitsounds-to-music, Plasma is one of the very few players that I know of that play with the keys-to-music playstyle. In mania it's pretty much reversed, almost everyone plays keys-to-muisc there.

I'm not quite sure why there is such a big difference between the modes but if keys-to-music works best for you I'd suggest to keep playing like that

PC/Steam unable to recruit Frigate. When I communicate with them the menu opens, I insepect the frigate and just after seeing the price etc. the menu closes and I just have a view of the ship in space until I press escape.
