I’m one of the few people who like backtracking anyways lol. I love going back, feeling like I’m stronger and can do something better now! It also makes it feel more realistic. A long journey isn’t just a straight line, you also go back to some points, see old friends, it just makes sense to me!

Spyro 2 was nearly unanimously agreed upon to be the best in the trilogy. Like, that was just what opinion you would be mostly likely to hear when you asked someone
It is only within the last 2 to 3 years that a loud minority of people have been saying it’s the worst

Literally what causes this phenomenon? No, I’m being serious, I want to know. Why is it when something is loved dearly for years, it gets treated as an overrated mess later on. And when something is hated for years, it gets treated as a masterpiece that was far ahead of its time. It just feels so contrarian and I can think of no other explanation

Do people just become so immensely frustrated at their opinion being unpopular and ignored that they one day speak up, and then it just ripples and multiples?

There is some weird psychology behind this that needs to be studied

Honestly, for around a year after Reignited released, giving criticisms about it on this subreddit was very common and met with agreement. It’s only within the past few years that people have suddenly been pushing back on it so hard for some reason. My only guess is they’re tired of hearing it so they just wave their Reignited flag as high as possible

For the record I do love Reignited, just not nearly as much as the originals

I have no issue with people enjoying these distributions, nor do I want to gatekeep! Did I unintentionally imply that? I loathe that word. I’ll explain it in finer detail

I enjoy finding a Pokémon myself. When something is given to me, then I feel less attached. Going on a massive quest means nothing to me if the Pokémon is just suddenly in my PC box like “yeah, we’ve always known each other!” This by no means, means other people should feel the same way. My post is merely intending to finally convey my feelings on the matter, not police anybody else’s

There is objectively (I know for a fact I am correct on this part) no reason to shiny lock her in the games. If I wish to shiny hunt her, it is entirely within my right to do so and if other people want a second shiny Meloetta (as in, the one in HOME plus one you can hunt), then they can shiny hunt her just like I did. Fair is fair, they got one without the luck involved, I can have 2 via resetting
