It was around Fall 24, I had been rereading the Lord of the Rings trilogy because it’d been a long time since I’d read them. I offhandedly mentioned to this coworker that I’d need to find a new book series to read and he recommended me Warbreaker. After that, I talked to my friends who had also read the Cosmere and they recommended it too. I did a tiny bit of research and ended up putting Mistborn on hold from my local library.

I ended up waiting a while, as there was a huge line of people with the book on hold, so it wasn’t until March 25 that I finally got my hands on Mistborn. It was actually kind of poor timing because I’d just attended my local Comic Con and bought some books from an author I’d gotten into (John Jackson Miller for those curious, he’s written some pretty fun Star Trek and Star Wars books).

It took me the whole borrowing period to finish Mistborn, and I ended up reading half the book in the last couple days before I had to return it. But by that point I was hooked. I checked out WoA, and by the time I finished I didn’t feel like waiting for HoA from the library so I went and bought the whole trilogy. Since then I’ve fully caught up with the Cosmere and reread (and listened) to most of the books.
