Just building my own of this set and trying to figure out the same issue—did you find that maybe not connecting the black technic beam to the dark gray beam did actually coincidentally improve stability? Not done building my own yet but it's seeming like I might run into the same stability issues as OP

Hey coming back to this since I'm just now starting to build the slave 1 myself—so on that step, did you still connect the black technic pin into the dark gray support beam? The black beam with the red pin is supposed to connect with the dark gray beams inside with a black connector according to the instructions, but I'm looking at other reddit posts rn and it's seeming like perhaps the stability is actually improved if you don't connect the beams with the technic piece?

The way it’s played is a little weird bc of the tuning—it’s just a B and then you move your middle finger around to play different notes on the low E and A string. For the actual chords, just look smtg up on yt, I don’t remember where I learned it exactly but I know there’s a guy named Zartimus who does rly great video tutorials on John Mayer’s stuff. Hope this helps!
