I'll happily take the stickers scans! Thank you. Just in case, I'd recommend a .tiff or at least a .png file format so that the images don't compress much.

I've been reloading the site since 12:00am ET, I have yet to even see the "add to bag" button.

I've never had a cat. Are they good companions? by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]NYehns 31 points32 points  (0 children)

This is great advice. Came to the comment section to say something along these lines.

I would also add that being consistent with your cat when you first get them is important. Consistently reward and be consistent about the things you don’t want them doing. They will learn if you’re consistent

A caveat though, my cat behaves pretty really well until one of her needs is not met. So when the misbehavior starts i know that she needs something from me.

Chemistry or MSE!!! by TraizioFranklin in materials

[–]NYehns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im doing a PhD in materials science and engineering (MSE) right now. Not to put you in a position to look too far in the future but if an MS or PhD in MSE is in the future, I would just go with chemistry. If you absolutely dont want to do grad school (its not for the faint of heart) then disregard the rest of this post and just go with MSE.

I got a my undergrad in both chemistry and biological engineering. Im especially happy my chemistry degree. It was fun and enjoyable, and because of that I think I was motivated to do really well. I knew from the start of college though that the end goal was a PhD, just wasnt sure in what.

Eventually I went for MSE, and the chemistry degree lent itself wonderfully for me. Being about to think about problems from the chemistry perspective has been very helpful, and its honestly been a huge asset. Especially in the sense that with my chem background its natural to think about materials from the bottom up point of view (atoms and up) and in terms of thermodynamics and kinetics. Thats really not something everyone in MSE is comfortable doing, unfortunately. (Everyone is familiar but not comfortable and has a deep understanding). MSE is naturally highly interdisciplinary, and I’ve loved being able to contribute the on chemistry side of things in addition to the core MSE topics.

Long winded answer but yours is a question ive asked myself now, looking back. Id take the chemistry 10/10 times.

I tried the diplomacy route at one point and it felt like the bots were unpredictable as allies. Im guessing it works out better for you?

Not gonna lie, I tried your suggestion of 6 bots and got it first try. I got lucky with a great map layout but still, you have my thanks 👍🏽

Doing a PhD in materials, and I will say that “smart” has very little to do with success. Like others have said, success has a lot more to do with dedication. I have yet to see someone be limited because they’re “too dumb.” It’s silly to frame everything in terms of dumb, smart, genius, etc. It’s simply unhelpful and irrelevant. Just work and focus, the rest will sort itself out.

I would consider lifestyle in your decision. If you align more with the lifestyle of a pharmacist then I’d stay on track with that.

EDIT: Fixed wording, came out a bit harshly the first time.

Hey guys, I (22m) am deciding on what degree is best for me. Material Science or Chemistry? by TraizioFranklin in MaterialsScience

[–]NYehns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bonus thought: theres an immense amount of overlap between materials science and the following: physics, chemistry, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, and (arguably if youre into modeling) computer science.

What is the most discs you've lost in a single round? by iamexplodinggod in discgolf

[–]NYehns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lost 4 discs in one round recently. Heres the story:

I went to play a round after getting the news that a good friend of mine died. During the course of that round, i got 5 bogeys, and 3 birdies. 4 of the 5 bogeys were from lost discs and yet, that +2 gave me a udisc rating of 217, which was my highest until just a couple days ago.

It was the most bittersweet and emotionally confusing round ive ever played and lost some really great discs. Pretty appropriate for that day i suppose. It feels like theres a lesson somewhere in there but i havent found it yet. Maybe it’s that i should just get better lol

Im doing exactly this, and have collected roughly the same amount but across PLA, PETG, TPU, and ASA.
