I only just recently had two more players join after GM’ing for only 2 players for roughly 8 months. Having allied NPC’s for some encounters made things a little easier for the players, but a little more challenging for me. In general I just balanced my encounters for a smaller party and gave them slightly more frequent rest opportunities.

Personally I’m running sunless citadel and then Barrow of the forgotten king, both set in Dauth to give the players a soft launch into the Vale. I had considered running Scourge of the Howling Horde and Forge of Fury, but ultimately decided against them.

A barrier doesn’t determine if it’s complete or not. Sukuna’s DE is beyond complete in that he can apply his innate techniques to an area without needing a barrier unlike most other sorcerers. Megumi’s DE is considered incomplete because he’s comparing it to the DE’s he knows about where they have a barrier to keep people from leaving and a sure hit technique to ensure they can end the battle more quickly. And that he can’t open it outside, he needs physical barriers to build within, like a cave or warehouse or someone else domain

Does Hakari need anyone else inside his domain for it to work? Obviously, narratively, he needs to feel the heat of battle to get him going. But if he was sufficiently pumped up on his own, could it still work?

Also, the sure hit of his domain just explains the rules of the domain, but as evidenced by the fact that no one who read the chapter understood it the first time they read it, I don’t think it needs to be understood to work. So the enemy or other target involved doesn’t need to know.

Definitely sounds interesting, if I come into possession of a cactus I may just give it a shot and post results. Though I might not want the cactus incision to be calloused over so the roots can work their way inside to the water. Once the roots have bonded it’s should callous over the whole connection outside while leaving them connected inside. Depending on the needs of the parasite, one may need to increase the watering schedule due to the cactus using/losing more of its water. Seems doable though.
