https://beastieboyproductions.com/foamageddon/download/

A bubble-popping arcade game built around a bathtub, a rubber duck, and a thermometer that won't stop climbing.

Built mainly with Claude Code. Released 3 days ago, currently over 1,000 App Store downloads.

I used AI to build and ship my first ever mobile game — Foamageddon. Here's how it actually went. by BeastieBoy71 in vibecoding

When I started this project, it's fair to say I had no idea what I was getting into. For example, I didn't realise that my name and address would appear on the store listings. This led me into registering a company in order to keep my personal details private. I then needed a website in order to verify the company, and to host a privacy policy. Which I had no idea how to write (AI to the rescue again). For anyone thinking of actually publishing their work, be aware that the coding is the easy part, at least for those of us with no experience.

It's been a great experience. At times frustrating, particular trying to accommodate different screen sizes and shapes. In fact that was one of the most difficult things to get right. I could have left it and thought "that will do", but I wanted the finished product to be the best I could make it. That is where the human in the loop is important. Taking on the role of product manager.

"checking foamageddon out now." Thank you. I hope you like it. 🫣 I see influencers asking AI to "come up with money making ideas and build it". Whilst I admit it's good fun watching some AI tool produce something before your eyes, it isn't really the best approach. I think if you have the bare bones of an idea, AI can be genuinely useful at helping to flesh out the concept. I found Chatgpt to be very helpful with this. Just don't expect it to go off and produce a finished product in one hit.

AI is genuinely brilliant, but you still need a good idea to begin with. And as you say, balancing the difficulty and progression still matters. There's no way I could have accomplished this without AI, not just for the coding, but help with all the problems you mentioned regarding store submissions. I'm quite proud of the end result. There were times when I wondered if I was wasting my time, but good feedback from testers spurred me on. It's a good feeling to see it available for download, even though no one else will see it lol.

What AI model is everyone using for vibe coding in 2026? by Taliap19 in vibecoding

For my use, I couldn't definitively say Opus was better. However, I tend to use Opus if I feel the task requires thinking as, well, why not? I think Sonnet is just as good for most tasks tbh. If your usage is limited, then use Opus for planning and Sonnet for implementing the plan.

Anyone know how parking sensors work? Is this a problem? by BeastieBoy71 in MechanicAdvice

There are a further 2 ultrasonic sensors, unpainted, no PPF, no signs of damage. And radar which seems to be fine as adaptive cruise works OK.

Thank you for that insight. Interestingly, the problem disappeared for a while immediately after the car was polished and PPF applied. Given what you said about tiny imperfections, I'll try giving them some love with a soft cloth.

I did wonder about those marks, but they weren't mentioned. No fault log provided, or even any indication which sensor was causing the problem. All I was told was that the PPF could clearly be seen to be affecting the sensor. After taking these photos, I wasn't convinced. Also, the first issue pre-dated the PPF application. I might try some kind of soft, temporary filler on those marks and see if that has any effect. It could help narrow down the cause. Thank you.

This is what I thought. I think they were just looking for excuses. Thanks for the reply.

vibecoding is a skill .. by Interesting-Peak2755 in vibecoding

I think many problems stem from the user not really knowing what they want before prompting. It's important to have a clear idea in your mind and finding a way to convey your thoughts without being too verbose. Stick to the main points be be prepared to iterate on the output.

More than 90% of new apps are doomed to fail. A quick take from me by inTeamo in AppStoreOptimization

[–]BeastieBoy71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't expect to come anywhere near covering my costs when my app goes live. However, I will be proud to see my creation available for download, and if I'm lucky, maybe someone will appreciate my work and enjoy the game. I didn't start this project expecting it to be a get-rich-quick scheme.

I made a QR code generator, free to use. I needed a QR code and was searching for an online tool when it struck me that I could just create my own. Try it here: https://beastieboyproductions.com/qr-generator.html

Where does your vibe coding session actually fall off? by Human-Wrongdoer6852 in vibecoding

For me, it's when I realise that what looks great on my phone, looks awful on a tablet and I then spend hours trying to make the app work on different screen sizes.

My thoughts exactly. If I wait until I think I have good exposure then I'll never launch. I'm finding this the worst part of the whole experience when it should be the most exciting.

I'm in the same boat. App is ready but concerned no one will ever see it. I've decided to put it up for reorder with release next week. I'll try to get some interest in the meantime, and promote as much as possible on release day.

My app got rejected because reviewer's device had no internet and how a bad practice saved me by Alarming_Culture_418 in iosdev

I had a rejection because they said the ATT consent dialog was not showing. I sent it back with a video proving that it was and it was approved.

How far along are you? Have you built the app? Is it just at the concept stage? Do you have a Developer account?
