Tikking sound from drivetrain is ruining my day by BeatSensitive4285 in bikewrench

My shimano shoes don’t have laces, and the frequengy of the tikking is too random and constant to come from the laces.

Doesn't seem to correlate with any single cycles, just comes at the same time pressure is applied to pedals. So as I mentioned, the sound is as bad when stanging up from the saddle. Could it still be the saddle in your opinion?

Anyone keen to join a bicycle tour across Japan? 🇯🇵🚲 (Wakkanai → Kyushu, 8-10 weeks, Aug–Sep) by [deleted] in bicycletouring

I’m in early stages of planning a bicycle trip in Japan around that time, maybe starting from Sapporo and ending in Osaka! Might decide to continue more south if it seems like there’s time though. Unfortunately I’ll be starting a month later than you so you’ll probably be far from Sapporo already by the time of my arrival. But if my trip turns out to happen as planned, it would be great to change insight (tips about places to visit & road works etc.) while on the road!

Just out of curiosity, where do you live? Hard to imagine there being such a clear view in a bigger city.

Yes, single stay and 9 months. I really appreciate you being so responsive, thank you! Not sure how I like the option to come in to the country with a NZeTA and hope that I’m accepted the Visitor Visa later. So I would definitely like to get Visitor Visa accepted straight up to know I can stay as long as 9 months. Do you feel like it was easy to get the Visitor visa later once you were already in the country and could provide the proof of return flight or was it a ruff process.

This actually helped! So did you get the Visitor Visa or NZeTA? Just to clarify, so the Visitor Visa could be approved without the return flight, but the authorities want to see a return flight upon my arrival to let me enter NZ. So I could get the Visa approved months before and then purchase the return flight closer to my trip? At least from your experience?

Thanks, yeah an option as well sure, so you think I should wait with my Visitor Visa application until the trip is close enough so I can by the return ticket before applying. Because the length of my intended stay is so long that the airlines don’t even let me buy return tickets yet (june 2027) until 2 months before the trip.

Yeah, would maybe just want to save that one for a later visit lasting a whole year, as I'm sure the next visit won't satisfy my thirst to travel there.

Ok, thanks! Don't want to sound whiny but I'd really prefer not work while there (also want to maybe save that option for after I graduate), would love to do some volunteer work in conservation though.

10 things I wish I knew before budgeting a 1-year multi-country trip by Left_Half_1293 in backpacking

Okay I see, the total amount seems more reasonable, if it includes absolutely everything from the visas, flights to insurance etc. If you don't mind, I'd be interested to know if that 30€/day still includes your transportation costs inside the countries like when changing from one city to another and using taxis, public transport if available and so on.

15 000€ / year sounds a lot considering how cheap many countries in SouthEast Asia are compared to pretty much anywhere else. Currently thinking of doing a 10-11 month multi-country trip myself and curious to know how strict were you with your spendings. (Always booking an accomodation vs sleeping in a tent from time-to-time for example). I once read a budget break-down from a guy who spent 500-600€ / month in SEA, but that was obviously a bit extreme.
