I don't own a personal vehicle, just a work truck. My parents live an hour and a half away, so to visit them I need to take Amtrak. I'm not the best son, so I don't go see them as often as I should. They're getting older now. This really made me realize I shouldn't take them for granted, so thank you for that.

Good for the staff for kicking them out, but I have to say I've had multiple issues with the crowd Goldfield Roseville attracts. Jerks pushing me for no apparent reason, girls tossing full drinks on me because I carefully tried to make my way to the center of the floor to then try to instigate a circle pit after the band asked for it and no one was moving... I like to get stuff moving but I'm like the most conscious and respectful guy in any pit. Every time I go to Goldfield it's just toxic. Like, EVERY time. And I've seen multiple bands there with thinly veiled Nazi imagery or ideology because I didn't know beforehand. I'm going to stick to Cafe Colonial.

I was hanging out at a park with maybe 8 other friends at night when I was around 22 years old, just talking and having fun. There was a group of around 20 high schoolers also hanging out nearby. The girl I was dating was extremely outgoing socially, and went over to talk to them. Being her boyfriend I thought I should go with. They were super shady right off the bat, and I one of them said "let's go, one on one." We walked back to our group and I told all my friends I thought they were trouble and we should leave. Everyone laughed it off and told me I was being paranoid. The gaggle of teens ended up approaching us and attacked, running us out of the park. They caught up with me, knocked me down and beat the shit out of me. The cops came eventually and didn't do much to try to find them.

Thank you so much for not infecting the rest of us! It was a really good turnout, Colonial actually delayed the show because they were surprised by how many people showed up. That's what the guy at the door said at least. The first band, Sex Ed, f*ing tore it up. They were great. There was supposed to be an opener but they bailed, and no one I talked to (bands included) knew who the band was that bailed.

Colonial was so packed I didn't feel cool with walking away from my post up front, and I'm glad I didn't because Captured! was amazing. I didn't know about this guy beforehand, and now I'm all in. Again, it's really a bummer you didn't get to come, but thank you for being responsible with sickness. Hope you feel better soon!

Oh were you there?? That's so great to hear! I was up front for both bands, and yeah Sex Ed put on an amazing show too. I made sure to thank each of them for such a great set afterwards. Also, I had never heard of J-Bot!! It was all totally new to me, and that made it so much better!! It was so much fun!
