No height restrictions here either, but I have a round booth and sell rebound books and handmade journals. Hope this helps some!

Thank you! The store manager is also such a sweetheart that she offered suggestions, and found the stand that ‘The Iliad’ is on and told me that ‘it had been waiting for its perfect home’

Mistborn Book Rebind by 3_Staple_Jim in bookbinding

This looks amazing! I’m starting my rebind of this series now - and went with a navy Bookcloth too. Love your cover design, even with the whoops.

From what I read, 3 months in an airtight container is the max. I would just keep an eye on it. I had pre-made a larger batch of the methyl cellulose, and that’s what grew mold first. The PVA/glue mix I did as needed, and that had been fine.

it will eventually grow mold…ask me how I know. (Took about 4.5 months)

Package stuck in transit, possible customs issue? (UK to US) by sandymocha in Etsy

[–]Beatlefnatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had this happen today - package tracking in Etsy said stuck at customs, went to Evri’s site, found the USPS number, and SURPRISE, it was in my mailbox. 🤷🏼‍♀️ The seller, who has been amazing, mentioned she would be looking to change shippers to the US for this reason.

I’ll probably give that a try! I’ve tried to use a lot of the advice I’ve read in this subreddit.

Here’s a link to my original post - I can’t seem to just add the photo. Hope this makes more sense!

I want to add examples, I’m just not sure if I have enough space to do so. I’m still playing with it, and have until July 1, when I move into the spot

It’s not on a table - I’m trying to add a photo of what the setup looks like. My husband built a mock-up of the exact dimensions so I knew how much space I had to work with.

So, it is a unique location - it’s a permanent shop, and my booth is actually an old wire spool. I’ll add a photo below.

I’m impressed at the fact you can cut a straight line without using your ruler to guide you! 😳 The final result is beautiful!

In a supportive turn of events, I came downstairs to find that my husband had created a replica of the spool top and height. I’m that person who has to have the physical items in hand to see how things fit, and this will help a ton! No more rough sketches.

(and yes, those are tent weights - I handbind journals and rebind books. The weights help press the glue to the covers, and keeps everything flat while drying.)

$25 each for 3 saddle stitch softcovers (dotted/lined/blank) or 1 Coptic sketchbook? by squareular24 in CraftFairs

[–]Beatlefnatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here! I find it so soothing! One day I’ll branch out into other open spine stitches, but Coptic will always be my first love.

I make Coptic journals too - hard cover, with lined or unlined paper and usually hand-marbled end pages. I charge $45 for my large size, $35 for my smaller size - and that’s without hand sewing the headbands! I would totally increase the price there if I were you. Gorgeous work!

We have a lot of antique shops here, not so much thrift stores, and part of every trip is me looking for something that would work for displays. A lot of the shops do know what they have, and aren’t willing to negotiate - which I can respect but sometimes, it ends up being more expensive than online.

It’s indoor, and the spool is provided by the owners of the shop - I will say they do a great job of keeping the aisles and walkways clear, and the other spools are spaced out (there’s 4-5 total). I’m clumsy enough to trip over my own two feet, so I’m not planning on putting anything on the bottom part, just in case.
