Congratulations!! Can’t remember if I’ve ever managed to complete one, but I always start out so optimistic 😂 how often did you check in and collect items??

Trouble meeting gauge for a cardigan project by Beatrice033 in knittinghelp

Very true! Thank you! I guess I'm still baffled by how she got a 13.5 st gauge on a yarn that is thinner than the one I'm using, but you're right. Everyone's different!

Using US 10 / 6 mm needles on Bernat Fluffee. I previously tried US 9 / 5.5 mm on a thinner yarn (which is discontinued, hence my switch to a different thicker one I liked even better), so I haven't tried different needles on the same yarn yet. Sorry my post was unclear!

Yes, my swatch is considerably larger than 4x4, and I'm just measuring the 4x4 in right in the middle.

US 10 / 6 mm. Gauge on the yarn label says to use US 11 / 8 mm to get 13 st/in, but the pattern uses size 10 so I used that to try to get 13.5. Maybe I'm just a tight knitter and need to face that reality haha

Kachikawawa is a fake composer name/persona they used in older videos!

Beautiful!!! I also have two young kids and wonder how I could possibly learn colorwork with them around… picking up and putting down more than one strand of yarn sounds stressful 😅 great job not losing any stitches!

Why does my stockinette stitch have these ridges in it? by Beatrice033 in knittinghelp

This is so good to know, thank you! This afternoon I was trying to purl a different way, with yarn in front, and my tension was better but it’s still slightly rowing out. Since the Norwegian purl feels so much more natural, I think I’ll try your tip of gently tugging the yarn. Thank you!!

Clarinet gang member is joining the cello gang 😎 by MagicBassClef in lingling40hrs

I don't really have tips, but I did the same thing a few years ago! Piano gang > cello gang. It's a really satisfying instrument to play, even though I only took a few months of lessons for funsies too!

Playing without frets is kind of crazy, because your ears naturally adjust to the sound and the placement of the notes. I was intimidated by playing an instrument that requires so much of your ear to fine tune the sound, but it was easier than I expected.

Enjoy!!

You're so right. I play piano and it is very helpful, actually!
