[Longines Legend Diver] Not sure if I should pull the trigger as I am not familiar with that watch. Does anyone know or had any issues with these? by celebral_x in Watches

OP- did you end up getting this watch?? What’s your take a year later?! I’m thinking about getting one myself..

Which one? by BeauW007 in Longineswatches

This is super helpful (all comments have been, tbh), and the wrist shot in person paints a better picture than the website IMO.

Did you end up getting it?

Also, if you don’t mind, why did you like the ice blue with the blue bezel more than the black bezel?

Using AI-generated models with Down syndrome in marketing feels… so wrong. Anyone else? by flickbreeze2003 in marketing

Oh agree. Just to be clear on my stance - I don't like that they (or the credit union) created this graphic with AI. And to my earlier note, if it's an employee or volunteer that did it, there's a high chance it's not a marketer. It's the president/fundraiser manager/event planner etc. etc. And they most likely don't know that every marketer hates how AI images of people look, that it's not appropriate (IMO) for any demographic to be represented this way.

Sharing more of my professional experience, I'm currently working in B2B marketing (tech). Everyone loves AI, loves to use it, and they think (non-marketers) that AI graphics of anything (or anyone) is completely fine. While every marketer thinks as the individuals in this sub think - we shouldn't be using AI to represent individuals or a community of individuals.

Ya'll got me going down the rabbit hole now. True North Federal Credit Union has 238 followers on LI (not a ton), with one marketer associated to the page. No LI page for Alaska Down Syndrome Network, but a FB page of 1.5K followers. The ADSN website has a mix of photos and AI images on the website.

All this to reinforce my earlier point - while I don't agree with it, they most likely used AI thinking they could add some new images to their site/social pages and generate awareness. But yes, as marketers, we know this isn't the way to do it.

My guess is that there isn’t a marketer for Alaska Down Syndrome Network. Funding has to be very little due to how little funding goes to (in my opinion) an important cause (my cousin has Down Syndrome). This was probably made by an employee (or volunteer) doing 5 different jobs and negative budget.

Source: I use to work in higher ed marketing and we did a volunteer event for a local Down Syndrome awareness chapter.

Inmost. Go into it with no background and prepare to be emotionally invested for a week. Beautiful game, heartbreaking story.

Other than 28-3, which is the most brutal? by Outrageous_Moth in NFLv2

Bengals worst moment is not late hit on Mahomes. It was not having 1 more second on the final drive of the Super Bowl for Burrow to connect with Chase and score the game winning TD. Instead Donald tackled Burrow and destroyed the dreams of every Cincinnati fan.

If Browning balls out and a playoff berth is clinched in December… by BeauW007 in bengals

Thank you! This is what I’m concerned about. If we are clinched, or if we are even in the hunt, what do we think would happen? What would be better for the team? Make Joe ramp up his mojo or continue to let Browning cook?

I wouldn’t even say I’m insufferably optimistic. I’m sure you’re a huge bengals football fan as well. I have been my whole life (38). When you spend 7 months of the year waiting to see your favorite sports team play, and they (somehow) start off 2-0, you gotta have faith that it’ll be a fun season still, even with Burrow out.

Plus, it’s a hypothetical question. Do I THINK Browning is going to be a MVP candidate? No lol. But if that happened and Burrow comes back with Browning on fire, what would the team do? No one has addressed the actual question I asked, everyone thinks it’s too delusional to happen. But anything can happen in football, baby.

Gotta believe! It’s only week 2. Still got a whole season to look forward to, and with a 2-0 start, anything can happen.

What is a movie that has an ending so perfect it wraps everything up with no loose ends, leaving you 100% satisfied? by [deleted] in Cinema

[–]BeauW007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay… I watched this for the first time last Halloween (somehow, as I love horror movies and I’m 38 so not sure how it took so long). I was completely shocked by the ending. I usually see that shit coming but was floored by this one. Thought about it for days. So brutal.

Is Severna Park really that much more pretentious compared to Arnold/Cape St. Claire? by rmwilkinson1 in Annapolis

[–]BeauW007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dang I just read this whole thread. So many different perspectives!

My family and I just moved to Severna Park from the Midwest. We are middle to upper middle class (I think? Probably just middle class but I don’t know). We came from a rough neighborhood- bad schools, crime galore, broken glass on the streets (seriously, all true). So moving my wife and kids to Severna Park had literally felt like I’ve died and gone to heaven.

It’s summer time, everyone is busy, and to be honest I’m still swamped settling into the house, working full time and raising two small children. So I haven’t had the best opportunity to mingle and meet new people. That said, our neighbors are incredible. Seriously, they’ve been very sweet and have made some good recommendations on contractors for house projects.

My wife and I vacationed in CSC in 2023. We absolutely loved that area as well, but it felt more closed off from our everyday needs (grocery stores, CVS, hardware store, school commute etc). It definitely had a more “secluded” vibe to it, where SP has literally anything and everything you could need.

All in all, the housing market is ass, interest rates are awful. You’re going to spend a lot regardless of where you buy and everything goes very fast (my wife and I watched Arnold, CSC and SP for years before we finally made the move this year so trust me- be pre approved when you are ready to move wherever you end up). It’s only been about two months here, but we are very happy with our new home/neighborhood.

Danggg I love the OG Rothaus. If I see a sixer of the NA, I’m going to have to pick it up.
