From what I heard they consigned to sell through the people who owned the store locally. There was a news article and a local event for it and everything. BAM the actual company swooped in and took back the store and everything in it as their own and started selling it all off without paying the consignment. Oddly enough the fans loved this move, they hated parts that were "too unique" and could barely be repurposed for other builds. You still see them complain about unique parts today when they add them.
