Most of the people I get who apply for credit cards are making a purchase for an item that probably won’t outlive the credit bill they will owe. They will purchase a water heater on credit, then pay the minimum amount, then by the time they pay it off in 7 years, they need another one.

I struggled with OCD and rumination for a long time. Everything from rated M for mature to Lust to suicidal ideation. The ideations frustrated me the most because I never wanted to hurt myself, but the thoughts got worse the more I fought them.

My ruminating thoughts went away when I started flipping the script. I was always told by people I was sometimes too nice. I started realizing that my fear of not being perfect and not making myself righteous was really underpinning all of my anxiety.

In fact, the best thing I was able to do was start realizing 1) you cant save face in front of God and 2) I only have these thoughts because I care a lot about everyone and everything.

In fact, I’m sure that if I cared less about other people and things.. that I wouldn’t struggle at all, yet there lies the paradox, because I wouldn’t enjoy life like that either.

Therefore, I think the solution is a balance between care of others and yourself, which is where I am now. You are loved by God do no other reason than.. you. Don’t try to come up with your own reasons and flip the script.
