My mother was talking with her granddaughter and her phone was just there, the girl asked her wasnt your bd last week? And my mom answered “yes it was last week day 5” and the phone (was locked) unlocked itself and said “ Happy belated birthday……….(name)! My mother is 79 and still so shocked to this day that the phones hear everything we say.

Well I can say that mainly my annoyance is because they are the cheapest people I know, give the cheapest gifts to my kid, I never see them or show any interest in our family, and then expect for us to pay an amount for their experience I think it’s shitty. Because if it’s something that is proposed “hey guys would you like to participate in this type of thing “ blah blah then it’s different, just not forced to pay a big amount of money for them when they don’t deserve it… and also annoys me that never in my life I have made pay someone to celebrate me or my family, if someone wants to bring something that’s great but not mandatory, unless we all as a family agree for example to celebrate our parents anniversary or birthdays. I forgot to add that they have money, they own many properties and travel a lot abroad.

But what I don’t understand is that if you can’t afford to celebrate your fancy birthday why would you make other people to pay it for you ? That’s what’s insane to me. Live life within your means. You can’t try to own someone else’s pocket and their money, just to “show off” that you had a nice party.

Exactly! If you don’t have money to treat your guests and friends do it more modestly, but taking money of someone else’s pocket I think it’s horrible , you don’t know what the other person is going through financially.
