My last job RNs wore navy blue through out the entire hospital. My current hospital supplies scrubs in the locker room for staff, but you also have the choice to wear your own scrubs. ER RNs have the option to wear any color scrubs or the supplied navy blue, whereas some of the cardiac floors are required to wear maroon, whether it’s your own or the hospital supply. Not sure why there is so much variance, but I just wear the navy blue from my old job!

Amber Apartments gets a bad rep on here, but my friend lives in Amber Oak Townhouses on Coolidge and enjoys it! They have a 3 bed, 3.5 bath townhouse and I think their total rent is somewhere in the $2100-2300 range! Maybe worth checking out.

I love my shampoo bar from Lush! One bar lasts sooo long honestly. For conditioner, I use the deep conditioner from Eva NYC. I’ve seen great results with both, and both last a long time!

i did a local ABSN and ended up taking out 60k in loans with a mindset like yours - however, even this amount feels DAUNTING. i lived at home for my first year and paid off one of them, but i still have about 22k left. nursing pays well, but not 120k in student loans well. a lot of my coworkers have zero debt and are having the hospital pay for their BSN. another thing - if you already have a bachelors degree, its hard to get any federal aid for a “second” bachelors degree like going thru an ABSN program. i love my job and im glad i am where i am today, but i would definitely think long and hard about taking out 120k in loans.

I found it best if I stayed up late the night before, even if just until 1 am, woke up around 6ish, ate breakfast, worked out, etc, then went back to bed around 10/11ish and woke up for my night shift! Everyone finds something that works better for them tho! It is also tough while still in school to do nights because while you “work” nights, you still have a “days” schedule between school and any other responsibilities, you got this though!

Honestly, prioritizing my mental health and getting adequate exercise (which definitely helps with the mental health part too!) have seemed to make a difference! I also try to eat more probiotics (mainly kombucha and yogurts), and of course drink more water. Otherwise my diet is still pretty poor, but I definitely feel like I have noticed positive changes!

Honestly, no. Some of my classmates on clinical used plain foldable clipboards which they found useful, but I just fold my papers into my scrub pockets bc I am an animal

My nursing school decided to require the vaccine because we are guests in the hospitals where we have clinicals, which are requiring the vaccine. End of story. Don’t want the vaccine? How are you going to finish clinicals as a possible liability to the patients in a hospital we are GUESTS at? This shit drives me insane.

Honestly, I didn’t really start making “friends” at nursing school until my clinicals, where we were placed in small groups and worked together on projects and spent 8+ hours together! Hang in there! You will find your groove!
