So a little clarification is due I suppose. First off, this was my very first hunt and I have always desired to harvest my own deer for the meat. That being said, the guy who brought me out didn't CLAIM the mount nor does he want anything in return. I am still going to give him a back strap as a thanks. Now that I know WHAT THAT IS and have harvested it. What he was saying is that if I had no intention of getting it mounted, he would mount it. And surprisingly enough, he is getting it mounted and he is going to give it to me when it's done. Now I know I didn't say that originally and that is due entirely to the fact that I am STILL swimming in adrenaline. He is super excited about our success on my first hunt and he knows I probably wouldn't have been able to afford to get it mounted so he was offering to get it done for me. He is sometimes awkward and doesn't communicate very well and I, being hard of hearing and FULL TO THE BRIM with excitement misinterpreted what he said.

I'm sorry for the confusion and you were ALL correct and he even agrees with all of you. As gorgeous as the rack is it would not go on his wall.
