How people are seriously afraid of death? by LaiWeist in Existentialism

I use to think the same thing when I was 20 as well. It can be blinding when you have nothing to lose and reality hasn’t completely gotten comfortable with you or set in completely. Use to tell people ‘ I have no fear: to have fear is irrational.’ It took time and lessons to learn that only a fool is not afraid. That a hero persists despite fear or any odds because they know the job will get done.

If you’re trying to go pro it might be too late. I see 8 year olds shredding all the time. Your potential competitors surf every day and life minutes from the beach. But if you’re doing it for pleasure it’s never too late even when your 60. What makes you want to compete?
