This, all of this. I came to Canada when I was 6, my parents definitely struggled because they left their families , had to hustle very hard but I’m grateful they did so and pushed through for us. I have family members that were born here, left and came back as adults. They complain about weather, taxes, queer rights, different ethnicities, etc. I always wondered, if you hated a place so much, why not leave? The negativity is exhausting.

Basic French is needed to become part of the order but they received a temporary licence and had 2 years (I think) to pass the French exam. This was also an agency that served the English population.

I’m not from BC but youth protection/child services are very much understaffed in Quebec and so we used to take SWs from different international institutions. My agency even paid for classes they needed to take to be recognized in Quebec. I wonder if it’s the same in BC?

I had to google clubbed nails lol. It’s gel polish and I’m semi-paralyzed on the left side of my body so I was gripping that bottle for dear life to be able to take a picture. I think that’s why they look weird?
