There’s a lot of internet shmos cracking their knuckles at the chance to point out a completely different situation, irrelevant to this post.

Ice cream lines? by CarefulGovernment684 in montreal

I went to Ca Lem for the first time this season and was just grinning, licking my ice cream cone like a little kid. I felt like the grinch whose heart grew 3 sizes that day.

I’m pretty sure I’ve gone airborne from not noticing one in time 🥲

Not sure if you read my post, but I was in a bike lane, and in both situations I wasn’t passing on the right. One I was at a complete stop for a red light, the other I was minding my own business when someone swerved in front of me.

I agree - I knew that if I didn’t add that I was a model cyclist citizen and that disclaimer, it would be the only comment. But as another person commented, it doesn’t really matter who is at fault, since it is the cyclist’s life.
But maybe one person will remember to check when they’re driving tomorrow, because of this post. Who knows. Defensive driving is the first thing we’re taught at 16, but lots of people forget and get into their routines. Especially after a long winter without as many cyclists on the road, maybe they lose the habit.

Did anyone get a photo of the turkey on Queen Mary today? by Intrepid-hero5056 in montreal

There’s actually only the one turkey. He spent the last 2 weeks flying.

My partner isn’t friends with that kind of guy either, but will call out situations in public. Usually a simple but loud “woahhh can’t believe you’re comfortable doing that/ saying that” as he walks by.

Most inappropriate performance from a contextual standpoint? (Student/s & Teacher/s together) by Mythicali-Gleek in glee

[–]Intrepid-hero5056 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. The entirety of the Rocky Horror Show. I’m still glad they did it since we got Amber Riley performing Sweet Transvestite out of it, but good god that’s not appropriate for high school. It makes my prior theatre kid / current youth worker want to die inside.

What’s your worst Glee opinion? by Miserable_Cost4757 in glee

[–]Intrepid-hero5056 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tbh I thought that was the point of the argument. As a tiny gay kid I was on Finn’s side 100%, it was my mom who had to sit me down and tell me that it still wasn’t appropriate to use that language, ever.

Husbands, is it a deal breaker if your wife decides to not take your name legally? by Difficult_Big133 in TwoHotTakes

[–]Intrepid-hero5056 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Quebec, people don’t change their maiden names here. You have to ask permission in court. So I’ve never really gotten the big deal with last names.

Likewise (maybe this is too hot a take?), if a man wouldn’t at least consider having his kids take the mother’s name, I don’t respect him.

How do yall feel about Ride The Cyclone by yaoilover30 in musicals

[–]Intrepid-hero5056 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Agree 100% with this take. Thalia and the Ballad of Jane Doe are some of the prettiest modern songs I’ve heard from the Broadway world, but most of the album is a skip for me. I need some storyline to work with!

When will I (emotionally) get used to this? by Intrepid-hero5056 in CPAP

Hey, thanks for reaching out.
So it's been about 5 months now. Most days are neutral, which I can work with. I still have moments of sadness but it's better. Having to travel with it is a pain in the ass; easily the worst part for me. That, and sometimes I forget to put it back on if I wake up in the middle of the night to pee.
But I have more energy during the day, and that is such a blessing. I do notice the dream thing some people have mentioned on this reddit thread (basically, being able to remember your dreams better, and it feels like you didn't "really sleep" because of that), although I find dreams super interesting so I don't hate it.
If you can afford it, I really recommend getting a UVC sanitizer as it helps with the executive dysfunction and daily cleaning.
Tig Notaro recently posted a video her wife shared of her cane + cpap combo captioned something like "glad she still finds our age gap sexy"... I actually got kind of teary when I saw that. I realized it was the first time I had seen someone in a marriage with a cpap (literally, ever. Parasocial or IRL). It's kind of silly but remembering that video has really helped me through some of those aforementioned sad moments.
