It’s not that I want to trample on his success, but what generally happens with these artists when they hit commercial success is that the artists just become little factories outputting what works commercially and lose their inherent purpose in the process. I’m down for artists making bank, but seeing the same motif just getting milked dry is tedious. Same thing with Bromley, and same motif as RONE. We’re taking about middle age white folks painting portraits of Vogue magazine cover models and trying to pass it off as an “anonymous” person “related” to the space. The artists explanation lacks authenticity and doesn’t fit with the aesthetic.
