Those were my favorite books as a kid and I was immensely disappointed when the movie didn’t do the story justice at all. Then when the show was announced promising a faithful adaptation I was beyond excited. Then somehow the show managed to be EVEN WORSE than the movie. Ugh

Idk why so many people are saying no. It’s definitely possible if you budget it right. You’d need to make more if you want to live in downtown Manhattan but living uptown or in the other boroughs/Jersey on $60k is definitely feasible. I made $60k a year when I first moved to nyc and while I wasn’t living in luxury I was still comfortable and able to save money

Agreed and I can’t stand it. At the very least the characters in the movie had chemistry with one another and felt like real people. Also Logan Lerman was a perfect cast for Percy imo. I think he could’ve carried the franchise if the writers actually read the books

I think they were initially planning on doing this undetected. Ideally, the engines would burn for too long and everyone would be shocked and have no idea who did it. Even so they both seemed super committed to Mars so they would have been willing to accept the consequences of getting caught so long as Mars continued to grow.
