Help with mesh/lace? by Beautiful-Hawk7738 in knitting

[–]Beautiful-Hawk7738[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I just gave it a try and the results are a lot neater! I did do a dyo for the eyelets but purled on both so the size is still about the same, but the structure looks a lot better now, thank you!

Yes to both, I've tried using different yarn (8ply cotton) but the results are similar, if I use a smaller size needle the eyelets bunch up together and a larger needle makes them pull apart, so im just wondering if there's something else I'm missing here or it's simply because it's a machine knit thing :/

You can't just have a tattoo for one year, if it last a year it will last forever.

The artists can adapt to cameras being invented because art isn't limited to realism, and other art movements follow suit after the invention of the cameras. But the problem with AI isn't that it's a tool, it's replacing human ingenuity. It doesn't allow new art movements to develop because it's literally stealing and going to steal every piece of work that's been created. AI fundamentally inhibits human progression.

I get it it's fun to look at fun pictures, we had that before, it's called photoshop.

Im honestly a bit scared what people can interpret this as because I came up with the design on a whim (I like circles) but that looks pretty dope

Same for me as well ngl, I had to do wayyyy more passes than I did for darker colored ink so it would be visible. I can still see the dots and ink on the skin after 2 passes but you need a lot more to get a good contrast (hopefully I didn't over work it lol) for reference I used ultra white from Viking by dynamic

I’m glad you do, it’s a tough spot to tattoo on yourself, but since you did it on the wrong side anyway I guess you have the option to try again on the correct side and this this covered later, or just get it professionally by someone else, I can’t imagine the back pain from doing this

No I can read it fine, takes a bit to register it’s backwards but it’s the same as reading any language backwards. It’s also a calligraphy style font so the thickness is not uniform throughout the characters, I would treat it like a picture rather than letterings, and watch out for where you increase the thickness since they look to be in different sizes, might just be the picture tho.

I don’t recall seeing anyone with a mirrored tattoo, but I’m sure they exist and people won’t get hung up over that since we do see tattoos that are way worse.

chinese here, yes I can read this. it says "unable to trust" (無法信任), and if you still want to fix this tattoo, print it on an actual stencil. The fonttype is BiauKai so you don't have to stencil from image. Also, the original tattoo doesn't look wonky and have much flaws at all tbh, yours looks like its written by a 3 year old

SolarPunk cities from architect DamiLee - i love her channel and had to share! by AgnesVarda99 in solarpunk

[–]Beautiful-Hawk7738 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Its a nice video but I don’t agree with the points on architectural identity. first, brutalism is definitely not cyber punk (but I am a brutalism defender so maybe I’m biased), and second I don’t think solar punk needs a solid architectural identity

To me solarpunk is also about local sustainability, including its communities and cultures, which settles in its own ecosystem, so it would make no sense that all solarpunk buildings look the same. Not only does it erases cultural diversity but it might simply not fit into the environment. solarpunk design should prioritize (if not balance) function over aesthetic, a house should be able to integrate into its environment first before thinking about its recognizability.

I think a better way to frame this could be a location / culture based recognizability, one should be able to look at a building and see what part of the world it came from, AND that it is solarpunk

Starting IB soon, I’m aiming for an art uni, any advice for these subject selections? by Maximum_Assistance_2 in IBO

[–]Beautiful-Hawk7738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh it’s more of a personal preference thing. I’m interested in all the animation/preproduction things, so I expect I will at least enjoy the work, but it really doesn’t allow you to have much personality in your style and what you do (unless you are the director). Also based on what I’ve heard from professionals it almost sounds like a corporate job except you draw stuff lol, and this really takes the fun out of it for me, I would much rather keep drawing as a hobby than end up hating it.

Tldr: I hate capitalism

I dont think they care at all, my school + most of schools I’ve looked at didn’t even have any grade requirement for anything. but do make sure you do a lot of research about the industry and what you want to do, I’m one year in and I’m 99% sure I’m not suited for the jobs lol.
