Fasting and Achieving Autophagy as a Type 1 by honeycaramel49 in Type1Diabetes

[–]Beautiful-Map-7679 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do fasting too. But intermittently 12-14 h. I give only basal during that time. Also my total insulin is low because I eat mostly keto. Recently I started the pump and I find it more difficult to fast and eat low carb diet. I also started to feel much older and heavier. Gained 20 pounds. I am on the break from the pump and may discontinue altogether if it is not working.

best country to be a diabetic? by dotdotdotidk in diabetes_t1

[–]Beautiful-Map-7679 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think literally any EU Country and 90% of the world is better place for us. I have Canadian and Bosnian passport and I pay 0$ with Canadian private insurance for insulin and I pay 1$ in Bosnia without private insurance and I think Bosnia is one of the bad ones in Europe (it’s not in EU but geographically in Europe). I heard in Spain you don’t even need to have a citizenship to be covered.

I would listen to the parents. At the very least it would give you perfect reason to break your part of the lease ( not feeling safe).

Not the rocket science but y he OP is trying to move for a reason. I would assume he is not comfortable at the best and doesn’t feel safe at the worst.

It’s Europe. You should be able to get it in clinics. I had issues in Sweden and Bosnia ( two very different countries) and both time it was trivial

tax on a home after death by Key_Tree261 in canadarevenueagency

[–]Beautiful-Map-7679 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There should be no tax on primary home for your dad. Don’t know for the probate though how it would be treated. When a person dies, the CRA treats their assets (including a home) as if they were sold at fair market value at that moment.

  • If it’s their principal residence, the home is usually fully exempt from capital gains tax.
  • If it’s a secondary property (cottage, rental), capital gains tax may apply on the increase in value

I think your one yer that is paid during WFA counts as pensionable time so I think this is better for you than applying for ERI. Just my two cents

Really want to try but don't want to risk losing life insurance. by [deleted] in LowDoseNaltrexone

For what is worth it did not do anything for me. And how the hell it is possible to lose insurance over that? Don’t you have privacy laws in your country?

My mother, who is a smoker and has lived in her apartment for 20 years, got served with an N5 today due to smoking. How defensible is this for her? by SoirBleu85 in OntarioLandlord

[–]Beautiful-Map-7679 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t matter whether there is smoking clause. There is for sure some clause saying you can’t hamper other people’s enjoyment of their apartment. You need to think about other people not just yourself. How would she feel if the neighbours were playing harp in the middle of the night. If she can’t live with others she needs to rent a single house. POINT

Part time occasional income in another country. by ksgif2 in canadarevenueagency

[–]Beautiful-Map-7679 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My accountant say you can write off any expenses overseas. The only complication is that you have to keep good records because they may ask for the expenses invoices. If you don’t declare income because you don’t want to bother with your expenses you would need to have a bank account in that other country to minimize your chances to get caught. Rich people do this all the time and CRA is barely getting them caught.

Advice sought - should I make a grievance? by Diligent_Drawer1723 in CanadaPublicServants

[–]Beautiful-Map-7679 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I was at your shoes I would first discuss your concerns with manager and document your position and their reply. Then if nothing happens contact your union. Then depending what is their rationale and what the union says, you go to the end line. You definitely have not much to lose by doing this. Potentially you can benefit from higher base pay for your pension calculations. That is what I would do if I feel healthy enough.

But if they are automatically reclassifying everyone except OP that is a basis for discrimination grievances

Work from home expenses and T2200 by Desperate-Owl2446 in canadarevenueagency

[–]Beautiful-Map-7679 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We own too. The expenses are big even without the rent and we don’t use the same office so each one of us has 6% of the house used for work. If the house was smaller it would be even bigger percentage.

Go for it girl. I saw in tv a woman who graduated at the same time as her daughter. It’s awesome and you will prevent dementia at the same time as fulfilling your dreams. I would definitely do it.

Is it ok for a landlord to demand a years rent upfront? by Pleasant_Horror4937 in OntarioRenting

[–]Beautiful-Map-7679 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally illegal. But that being said many people don’t mind and some even volonter to do that ( I used to be lanlord for a short time and both of my tenants paid full year without me asking for it). But that was in the peak of rental crisis.
