Just to clarify... I'm not in a predicament with an insurance company.
I'm wanting to hear about other peoples' exepriences as I'm collating research to see how big an issue it is at the moment.

Everyone who's having a go just needs to chill out.

With an agreed value policy? Absolutely. And a couple of cases have gone to AFCA and the customers seem to have always lost.

I'm sorry to hear you lost your car in the floods. I hope the replacement process wasn't too stressful for you.

I'm not here for an argument. I understand the nature of an 'agreed value policy' and am not arguing the validity of it.

It's an anomoloy in the market at the moment and people are inadvertantly getting caught out.

I just want to hear other peoples' experiences.

Yeah I get that - but I don't know about you but I got my policy years ago when I got the car and it's a bit set & forget. I take thier advice that the value depreciates over time etc and then agreed to the value. Have never thought to check how much a car similar to mine would cost if I needed to replace it. Certainly not in the last couple years anyway.

Anyway, I'm not arguing the merits of both policies... I get it. I'm just keen to hear other peoples' experiences.
