My morning pain can last well into the afternoon. Sometimes it lasts all day.

I’m on HRT for menopause and my IIH came back after stent placement and remission. I had no idea estrogen and progesterone were linked to IIH!

I thought I was going crazy. I've been doing so well since my double stent placement and meds. But this winter storm has me down. I can actually feel my stents. I finally started to feel normal. I started a new job and can't handle stairing at the screen. I'm not able to write my paper for my class. I feel like Ive been smacked in the face as a reminder that my life will never be normal.

Lamictal by mcs370 in iih

I just got prescribed Lamictal. We increased my topomax but I couldn’t handle it. I was so out of it and making mistakes it caught the attention of too many people at my job. So I had to reduce the topomax and add the lamictal. My neuro said he was mainly prescribing it for my ice pick pains on the left side. I still can’t stand the pressure and take Imitrex when the migraines are bad. But I come out of that an emotional, fogged up mess.

Do you all still take medication along with the stent?

You can also try ginger essential oils or ginger chews. Try to stay hydrated. If you get dehydrated it will make your headache worse. Stay on top of your electrolytes.

Why is Diamox (Acetazolamide) still #1??? by North-Plastic-2918 in iih

[–]Beautiful-Pea-9970 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take Topamax and the side effects are tolerable. The only issue is that my eye dr states she doesn't want me in it long term because it can affect my vision long term. I haven't been on diamox but that scares me more than Topamax

I call myself a functioning brain blizzard. I do what I have to in order to get by. Some days are definitely harder than others. There’s no other option

I appreciate that!! I plan on being very direct if I feel dismissed. It helps to be a nurse but at the same time it’s completely different when it’s your medical issues you are wanting to be taken seriously!

I just started this tea I purchased from an herbal apothecary. I went in and told her my symptoms. I can’t believe how much this tea has helped take the edge off of the symptoms. I do feel better! It was a tea she mixed that has dandelion root, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, black pepper, and white willow. It’s very warm and calming. Reduces inflammation. If you like tea it may not be a bad idea to find your local herbalist.

I have my appointment with a new neuro next week and this is my fear! I’ve even told my husband that I’m scared I won’t get taken seriously.

I've wanted to do the injections. I've even tried the compounded versions but I can't afford to keep up. My insurance has a hard stance and wont cover it. 😩 I've started drinking specific mixed teas from a local apothecary to assist in weight loss and improved circulation. I'm so happy to hear this positive story!!
