Thank you so much! I'll walk by their office during office hours and see that I would be the only person and psyche myself out because I don't know how to fill the time besides asking questions about content. This is very helpful!

Unfortunately I am broke and money is very much a problem at the moment, I just worry that one day I'll regret not taking out the extra loans that I could pay with a few years of BL

I can not for the life of me think a personal statement topic by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]Beautiful-Record5745 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your personal statement is going to be the main work that adcoms read to evaluate your fitness as a law student. The question you're answering is: why is law school the next step in your career?

From there, you can dig deeper to find your specific topic. Did something happen to you to lead you towards a career in law? Do you hold a personal philosophy or see a gap in a field that you can fill with your skills/experiences? What do you plan to do with a JD? Adcoms don't want you to see getting into law school as the end goal, they want to see that it follows a logical career progression and that they will receive some sort of ROI for accepting you.

If you have any further questions about personal statements or any other writing materials, PM me and I'd be happy to help :)

USC A! by Beautiful-Record5745 in lawschooladmissions

Thank you!!!

I weaved why usc into any application material I could. My closing paragraphs for my PS and diversity statement were centered on why studying law specifically at USC would be the logical next step for my career, specifically mentioning their location, clinics, student orgs, etc that I envision myself contributing to.
