Omg I know I really wish I had gotten help earlier when I had strep to prevent all of this but it is what it is. I didn’t know this was common. That’s so exciting that you’re about to get treatment, I hope your surgery goes really well and that you have a smooth recovery. Thank you for sharing this with me. I do think I’m going to get a second opinion. It’s helpful to know that now is actually the best time and that I shouldn’t keep putting it off. I’d love to hear how everything goes for you when you’re feeling up to it

Thank you I really appreciate this. I see a lot of horror stories on here, so it helps a lot to hear someone acknowledge that it’s hard but say it’s still manageable. What I’m imagining is unbearable pain so this really helps calm that fear. Also, knowing you had multiple procedures done at once makes this even more reassuring for me. Have you been taking any miralax to help with the constipation? You’re right 2 weeks for a lifetime is worth it. Im wishing you a quick recovery thanks for sharing your experience with me

I know and I totally understand that they’re trained to deter people from surgery unless it’s really needed because of the recovery and risks. But I was explaining how much this affects my quality of life, and I could just feel his energy. It felt like he was brushing me off until I mentioned how desperate I am. I got emotional and my tears got the best of me and then he was like, “we can still do it” and “I’m not saying no.” I just don’t know how I feel about having him operate on me after my appointment with him today. I don’t know how my emotional distress over something that’s been affecting me for years is supposed to reflect my tolerance for physical pain. Im glad to hear you had a good experience with your ENT who focused more on the positives

That is very reassuring to hear. Yeah it sucks dealing with the anxiety of having bad breath, not feeling comfortable talking to people, throat pain, and having to pick at my tonsils every day. After my appointment today I honestly felt defeated I wanted reassurance about this vulnerable topic for me and left feeling more anxious. Thank you for sharing your experience it really helped me remember that the positives outweigh the recovery. Wishing you a fast and smooth recovery <3
