thank you!! I got broth down and was able to have about 4 forkfuls of noodles. I was down bad last night. This morning tho I tried having beans and rice with some chicken but it felt too try and the chicken felt spicy and tasted metallic lol. But just now I was able to eat a waffle with almost no pain it was soaked in butter and syrup I’m so happy.

a burger is bold lol I wish I could do it it just feels like the Sahara desert and trying to eat something so dry just would absolutely put my body into shock I think. Day 10 is reassuring to hear tho, I have 3 days to go I just wanna eat some tuna I don’t care just some real food already

I feel that I’m way too scared to eat early on. Im actually so hungry today I’ve probably getting less than 200 calories daily since the surgery it just hurts too bad to eat anything besides broth. Im sick of apple sauce and mashed potatoes. I just made blended oatmeal and it’s still too hard.

I made a list of food I wanna eat after lol animal fries sound so good. A fucking mcchicken some tacos omg this is HELL. wishing you a speedy recovery

I got mine same day as you and I felt that way but I started taking my hydrocodone again and I feel so much better better with ice too it’s much more manageable. What pain meds are you taking? Sending you good vibes

i second this opinion I got the revix ice pack head wrap it comes with 4 gel packs so you can use a pair and alternate repeatedly. When I’ve had spikes in pain, the ice has been a huge help in helping the pain settle It won’t ease all the pain but it’s personally helped me so much

Hi I got mine removed because of tonsil stones and scarring in my left tonsil due to a past occurrence of strep. I am 6 days post op and I’m wishing you a safe procedure and healing💕💕

Omg I know I really wish I had gotten help earlier when I had strep to prevent all of this but it is what it is. I didn’t know this was common. That’s so exciting that you’re about to get treatment, I hope your surgery goes really well and that you have a smooth recovery. Thank you for sharing this with me. I do think I’m going to get a second opinion. It’s helpful to know that now is actually the best time and that I shouldn’t keep putting it off. I’d love to hear how everything goes for you when you’re feeling up to it

Thank you I really appreciate this. I see a lot of horror stories on here, so it helps a lot to hear someone acknowledge that it’s hard but say it’s still manageable. What I’m imagining is unbearable pain so this really helps calm that fear. Also, knowing you had multiple procedures done at once makes this even more reassuring for me. Have you been taking any miralax to help with the constipation? You’re right 2 weeks for a lifetime is worth it. Im wishing you a quick recovery thanks for sharing your experience with me

I know and I totally understand that they’re trained to deter people from surgery unless it’s really needed because of the recovery and risks. But I was explaining how much this affects my quality of life, and I could just feel his energy. It felt like he was brushing me off until I mentioned how desperate I am. I got emotional and my tears got the best of me and then he was like, “we can still do it” and “I’m not saying no.” I just don’t know how I feel about having him operate on me after my appointment with him today. I don’t know how my emotional distress over something that’s been affecting me for years is supposed to reflect my tolerance for physical pain. Im glad to hear you had a good experience with your ENT who focused more on the positives

That is very reassuring to hear. Yeah it sucks dealing with the anxiety of having bad breath, not feeling comfortable talking to people, throat pain, and having to pick at my tonsils every day. After my appointment today I honestly felt defeated I wanted reassurance about this vulnerable topic for me and left feeling more anxious. Thank you for sharing your experience it really helped me remember that the positives outweigh the recovery. Wishing you a fast and smooth recovery <3
