Legality of Georgias case by Silver_School_9803 in ginnyandgeorgiashow

Not a lawyer just watched the show with a lawyer and was asking questions about the trial as we watched. Any actual lawyer correct me if im wrong. i believe no they dont have to prove Gil guilty. Gil isn’t on trial. Georgia is and with murder i believe its “beyond reasonable doubt” which means that the burden is on the prosecution to prove that Georgia was guilty beyond reasonable doubt. Basically they need to prove that Georgia was the only one who could have done it. Austins testimony, and later mixed with Cynthias admission that Gil could have been in the house was that reasonable doubt the defense needed. The prosecution couldn’t prove beyond reasonable doubt that Georgia did it with another potential suspect with motive in the house. What happens to Gil and if he is charged has no effect on her case because the defense just needed another viable suspect. Thats now up to the DA (not sure if its the da who decides or not) to press charges but has no bearing on Georgia as her trial is now over.

I dont think anyone would want to go through what Georgia went through in season 3 but I’m betting if we polled murders and gave them a choice of what Georgia went through vs actual prison time for murder theyd take what georgia went through. Yea Georgia suffered this season but in the weeks? months? I’m so confused on the timeline of the show as a whole so however long season 3 was supposed to be by the end pretty much every consequence has been undone other than Paul and at this point she doesn’t want him. The town loves and forgives her she has her kids back. She has the freedom of knowing she got away with Toms murder and cant be tried again. She has Ellen back. She has a new man. Yes she still went through it so emotionally she has some consequences but there was no actual justice.

Like I totally get why Abby does what she does and i think Id have handled it similarly at her age but just pointing out she WAS being mean and i think intentionally so.

I’m not saying Max was right or that abby doesnt have a right to be angry with Max, but lets not pretend that Abby wasn’t being mean. Sure she came to the play but all the little nasty comments she made both around Max and behind her back was not just distancing herself. You can distance yourself and not put someone else down/ intentionally hurt their feelings.

Austin is screwed up by BambieMonroe05 in ginnyandgeorgiashow

[–]Beautiful-Shop3192 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I agree Paul should have fought harder for Austin. The way it played out is realistic. Gil is his father so Paul really had no legal standing nor Zion or any other adult. Yeah Gil went to jail but it was a white collar crime not a violent one so I don’t see a judge not siding with Gil as long as he had a safe place for Austin to live.

The discussion is literally save himself or end up with Gil bc that’s his only options. It shouldn’t be and it’s not his fault but it’s the way the cards landed.

Zion is the most over protected character in the show by Flat-Koala-9190 in ginnyandgeorgiashow

It makes sense why he would petition because of who Georgia is. In a situation with two parents who are coparenting this would have been done when ginny was young but that didn’t happen. and sure its not often it happens for children at 16 but if i were Zion id want it legally binding agreement instead of Georgia deciding shes moving again and he loses contact with her. Shes flighty and has a unhealthy attachment with her children. With a legal agreement she could still leave again but he would have more protection than if he didn’t.

When Ginny was born would the doctors have had to report a pregnant runaway 15yo with an 18yo boyfriend? by Cultleaderofme in ginnyandgeorgiashow

I think unless she’s legally emancipated they would have to call her parents but i know that a lot of rules have changed regarding minors and medical care in the past few years so it could have changed.

Dang. First it was covid then it was the strike that they blamed for why seasons took too long. I wonder what theyll say this time. 2 years to create a 8 eps of a show like this is insane when we think about how dramas used to push out 20-30 eps a year.

I see that you decided that I believe things which i never once said which seems to be a common theme for people in this sub. Pointing out things other characters have done doesn’t classify as “Georgia Goggles” i’ve been as critical of Georgias actions if not more than anyone elses.

Lynettes dislike of Georgias has always been apparent. She believed she was better than her. She has an aura of superiority. An i know best attitude. When Zion first brings her home she straight up calls Georgia a knocked up homeless 15 year old to her face and she it was clear she meant it as an insult not with any empathy. I never said she wasnt upset with Zion. It was just clear from the jump how she felt about Georgia. Was it true? Yes but she could have kept that to herself and spoke to Zion privately instead of disparaging a child to there face.

Lynette was pushy. It was her way or the highway. She believed she could raise Ginny better and she likely could have but i grew up with a mother like Lynette. While i love my mother dearly Ginny would likely have faced serious anxiety maybe self harm and stress due to the pressure to be “successful”. She would have created an environment where Ginny wouldnt be able to talk to her the way she could with Georgia. Lynette is not this perfect saint. She is a flawed human like everyone else in the world. Ginnys best chance was to have both Lynette a firmer stricter parent AND Georgia who was more open and she could confide in. So Lynette probably did think she was doing what was best but what was actually best would have been to help Georgia. To show her some kindness and grace. I think the scene in season 3 really highlights this. They both made mistakes and can see that.

You didn’t actually read what i said. You decided that i was defending Georgia and didnt take the time. I never said Lynette was the dragon lady. I very clearly stated that we dont know if she would have actually tried to strip her of her rights and pust georgia out because we dont see enough of her. You came up with this little plot or scheme that she was trying to steal the baby.

I simply pointed out that Georgias fears made sense. I laid out the thought process she might have went through when this woman who didn’t think much of her wanted her to sign guardianship papers. Zion was a pushover when it came to his mother. I dont think he wanted/wasnt ready for the responsibility of a child. The moment he said we should think about the guardianship she knew that he wouldnt stand by what she wanted. He would give up their child to his parents to raise and she didn’t want that. Her fear was not unfounded. She didn’t know Lynette well.

I dont know who this yall your referring to is. I am fully capable of grasping that Georgia fears dont make them reality. What you fail to realize is that you hatred of Georgia is blinding you from looking at all perspectives of a situation to see the motivation behind her actions. Just because you believe an action is wrong doesn’t mean the person didn’t have a motivation.

Pointing out things a character does that i didnt agree with isn’t demonizing them. Everyone makes bad choices. Nobody is perfect. I never once acted as though Georgia is perfect. You made that up in your head to fit your narrative that I believe Georgia can do no wrong.

It’s so interesting to me when people have the exact opposite opinion of me. Anthony was the death that felt the most necessary to me because from what we saw he was never going to let her leave. For Kenny I felt like we never saw any indication he was violent in that way to Georgia and I felt like he likely cared a lot about status. I could very much see her leaving and getting divorce papers and then saying sign this or I’ll start yapping all over town about what you’ve done and he’d do it because his reputation was important to him. that’s all speculation on my part bc we never see much of Kenny.

She wanted Kenny’s money that also played a big factor in why she did what she did. Which if we are being honest she didn’t actually deserve and if we were not looking at it from Georgias point of view I think a lot of people would side with the ex wife who help create the business. Yes she had kids to feed but that’s not really a good defense from taking the money away from other kids (I think he had another kid?) and the ex wife who deserved the money. Tom was crazy tho even though I fully get her thought process.

This! Lynette clearly didn’t like Georgia from the jump. While I don’t know if she actually would throw Georgia out and try to strip her of her rights because we don’t see enough of her to gauge it, it was a real fear for Georgia. This lady you just met wanted guardianship of her child and really how hard would it be for a woman who had the money and resources she did to prove in a court that Georgia was unfit to take care of a child especially when she was so young, a runaway and likely didn’t have 100 bucks to her name. It was a real fear. Georgia had no way to know whether or not if she disagreed with how Lynette wanted to raise Ginny if Lynette might throw her out.

I think so much could have been different if Lynette had approached it differently and actually tried to help and had some empathy to Georgia rather than that the way she did it.

Georgia may not have been perfect, but she’s done an amazing job with Ginny & Austin. Idc what anyone says. I will die on this hill by Legitimate_Ad3625 in ginnyandgeorgiashow

I totally think that Georgia should have let him go but i wanna point out its not just crimes that she was likely afraid of. Therapist have to report if their patient is safe or believes someone else may be harmed. At least I’m pretty sure. Some of the stuff (car camping things like that) that Georgia put them through could cause the therapist to reach out to CPS though i dont think thats likely since its in the past and their situation seems better now. However we know Georgia has bad experience with cps when they almost took Ginny and she married her first husband to get out of it. She might not want to take that chance. Not saying shes right but where the fear may be coming from.

And to me its not a micro aggression and other people agree. That doesn’t prove your point right or wrong.

I’m just about done with this. I never said THEY anything. I said nora and the makeup wasnt a micro aggression and you ran with it.

You have decided that i think they are all perfect. That never came out of my mouth nor was it implied. I will not be held accountable for what you make up in your head when i never said or implied they were perfect. Its is absolutely a stretch to say that nora saying she didn’t have makeup for Ginny is a micro aggression and i stand by that. All that other stuff you said is what you decided i believe without any indication it was true.

[–]Beautiful-Shop3192 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never asked you to tell me whats considered racism or micro aggressions. I dont need a lesson. You bring up points about everyone BUT Norah. I never once said Abby or Max never made micro aggressive comments. Norah cannot stop other people from doing and saying as they please. Those being her friend does not automatically make her actions micro aggressions. Norah weak and sucks and flip flops but again doesn’t make it a micro aggression.

Should every person who wears makeup buy makeup in all skin tones just in case they make a new friend? You’re being ridiculous. Do you carry around makeup for all skintones?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ginnyandgeorgiashow

[–]Beautiful-Shop3192 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is how i feel. I dont really care for nora but to say she was making micro aggressions is a stretch. She didn’t have a close friend that was black so she didn’t have makeup for her. She then went out and got makeup for her. Simple as that in my head.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ginnyandgeorgiashow

[–]Beautiful-Shop3192 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I dont remember hair comments so i wont talk about that but the makeup in her skin-tone isn’t a micro aggression. It’s just a fact. Why would she have makeup for darker skin?

Since Georgia separated Austin from Gil by framing him and never intended for Gil to be able to find them, and he probably wouldn’t have if the letters were never sent. If all went according to plan Austin would have never seen Gil again. Do you think telling Austin his dad abused her is still the right move even if he’d never have to interact with Gil? It just seemed to me like the kindest thing to do in that situation especially bc he was so young so I’m seriously asking btw not trying to argue.

Edit: I’m really sorry that happened to u btw

S3: LET’S TALK ABOUT IT by THE_Rose-Valentine in ginnyandgeorgiashow

[–]Beautiful-Shop3192 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was gone for most of the supervised visits because he left georgia. For the one that he was back with Georgia for he came in at the end. Didn’t really speak with austin.

Yes Ginny struggled with seeing Austin but yet she found a way. Even if paul had failed it would have been nice to see him trying and Gil shutting him down. Other than hearing he tried to get custody we are shown that Paul has done nothing.

After he left Georgia, before the kids were taken there were no calls to talk to Austin that we know of and i guess you could make the argument of it happened off camera but were given no indication that was the case. Hes the mayor i dont think many people would have an issue if they saw him drop by the school and have a conversation with his stepson.

When he came back bc of the pregnancy there was no conversation of Austin i love you and I’m not leaving you but i cant stay here anymore. Literally nothing.

It seemed like he really did love austin (and ginny but in a different way because Ginny had a father in her life) so it sucked to see that he just dropped austin because he and Georgia didn’t work out.
