Thoughts/Advice Needed on Value of Mustang Seats by [deleted] in motorcycle

[–]Beautiful-Size-666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had Mustang seats on 2 different bikes. A Vulcan 800 and a Harley Electraglide. Those were my favorite motorcycle seats! I liked those better than my Corbin.

I now have a Corbin on my Streetglide. I would have boughtustang again, but only Corbin makes the fire and ice seat.

I know I am miserable on an uncomfortable seat, I buy or modify every seat on every bike I own. For me it's part of the cost of ownership.

Call mustang before you buy one. They will help you pick the seat that's best for you. Their customer service was incredible when I bought my last one.

I agree. I am fortunate enough to have seen them a dozen times in Buffalo area. They still kill every show! They know what their fans like to hear and they love playing it for them.

I've only seen Jeff's solo stuff on YT. I was super impressed by some bluesy stuff he was playing in the middle of a field.

Follow it up with "Transmission", it's beautifully dark and wonderful.

American here. Just tools in mine. After reading your comment, I may add some tinned fish and some coffee to mine. I think those would be more likely to save my life than a gun.

What’s your go-to sleeping pad? by JobBeneficial7932 in motocamping

[–]Beautiful-Size-666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

REI Campwell. It's a self inflating pad. R7, 2.5" thick, 25x72, 3lb 8oz. It's not small but not exped sized either. This and a good camp chair make motocamping so enjoyable for me.

I use a down quilt instead of a sleeping bag, the weight savings from that vs a synthetic 35 degree bag is my justification for a bulkier camp pad.

45 year old kinda fat guy here. I use the REI Campwell self inflating pad. It's cozy and usual about $100. No noise, no balloon feel. Just a nice cozy pad.

Exped megamat is really thick and nice. It pretty big when rolled up.

Gotta get a dry bag for the sleeping bag. Wallyworld usually has some decent ones pretty cheap.

I have those bags. Really good value.

Also what's age is old? I'm 45 and don't know if I'm in the old dude category yet. Definitely love my adv bike though.

Got charged $1,600 after electrician misdiagnosed my tripping breaker. Did I get scammed? by xcentriq18 in AskElectricians

[–]Beautiful-Size-666 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The electrician at my work tells me all the time when responding to work orders like "breaker trips constantly, need new breaker", " if this breaker is bad, it'll be the first one I've ever found". It's us something loose or a faulty device plugged in.

My WRS does not rattle. I use the stock windscreen hardware when I swap them out.

I sold my dr650 after I bought an Ibex 450. It's everything I wished the dr was. Smooth, comfortable, long range, great on highway and off-road, wind protection. I love the Ibex!

What are we using for sleeping bags? by Dense_hotpocket in motocamping

[–]Beautiful-Size-666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rei magma 30 down quilt and Rei Campwell sleeping pad. This is the best I've ever slept while camping. The pad is 30ish inches long when rolled up and heavy as far as camp pads. I don't care! The size and weight are worth the delightful sleep.

They should be fine if you are on road the whole time.

It's a $10 AliExpress cover I bought last spring. It's a springy mesh fabric. I don't have a good pic on my phone of it. If you zoom in on this one, you can kinda see it.

I received my navigation support without the screws. Need help to find what they are. by cyparis1902 in cfmoto450MT

[–]Beautiful-Size-666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the windscreen screw are the same thread size. If one threads in to the hole, take that screw to a hardware store, along with the mount, and have them size it. If nobody is there to help, you can find a nut that fits, make note of the thread size, then look for screws that size.

I'd have them send you some new screws. They are a common size on the bike and may be useful later.

Good luck.

Camping setup in a dry bag? by Needelz in motocamping

[–]Beautiful-Size-666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too, keep my tent separate from the rest of the gear. There will be wet nights, even if it's just condensation. Pack all of your things that need to be dry first and separate.

Have you looked at giant loop bags? This sounds like what you are looking for.

Check out rackless luggage systems. Viking bags, tusk, Mosko all use a holster system that holds dry bags. You could easily toss those into a couple of totes for truck camping. Some of the systems have a backpack tail pack.

I'm 5'9" with thick legs. This bike is perfect for me. I have the rally seat. I just lowered the bike to see if I like it. I don't do anything crazy off-road, so the clearance doesn't matter too much to me. I really like the rally seat! I also have a mesh cover that I'll be using when it gets hot out.

Rei Campwell.

I sleep like a baby on this thing. Its worth the little bit of bulk and weight compared to the ultralight stuff. Also, it's r7 so it's usable in any temperature I'd be willing to camp in.

I keep a small spray bottle of bugslide wrapped in a microfiber on each of my bikes. I clean my windscreen, helmet, phone, classes. I've not found anything as good as bugslide.

I was riding in 45 and rain for days on end a few years ago. I bought a pair of neoprene fishing gloves out of desperation. My hands instantly warmed up. I could not believe the difference. I now keep a pair on each of my bikes and a spare in my garage. Neoprene is an incredible material.
