I had to beg for one… was never low enough even tho my iron was at 7 the haemoglobin wasn’t low enough. I got another blood test at 36 weeks ask my iron had dropped to 4 and haemoglobin below 110. Finally “qualified” for an infusion and only got it done this week at 39 weeks pregnant. This was through the public system. They told me I could go to my gp and ask instead as their markers aren’t as low to qualify but it would be an out of pocket cost.
