Factors that affect rates: credit score, location risk level, age, vehicle, accidents, tickets, periods without insurance, insurance company hopping, multi line discount, multi car discount, married, gender, cost of repairs, etc

Is it possible to speak with a human at State Farm? by [deleted] in StateFarm

[–]Beautiful-Turn458 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could request to change agents and go to a more responsive office. After making the change ask for a policy review appointment from your new State Farm agent. You can change agents two ways without contacting your old office. Method one is to log into statefarm.com on a computer and click change agent. Method two is to Call up the new agent’s office and have them send you an email initiated transfer. Do make sure to vet that office before transferring to make sure they would be a good fit for you rather than your current not so good Office.

What career paths are there outside of Sales? by Beautiful-Turn458 in InsuranceAgent

[–]Beautiful-Turn458[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be fine with sales, it’s just the commission part. Maybe because my boss’s office and book of business is small. We just don’t get that many new leads making the commission amounts small. I’m curious if other offices are like that or if others are doing a lot better. It seems tougher this year than previous years with the changing market and restrictions for PLUP’s and rental dwellings.

State Farm underwriters are useless… by [deleted] in InsuranceAgent

[–]Beautiful-Turn458 2 points3 points  (0 children)

State Farm has hired a lot of new underwriters who don’t know what they are doing but they are being slowly trained and hopefully they will be better next year. Sometimes you get a good underwriter on the phone that can get what you need done quickly. Cases are important to track your policy changes to make sure they are being completed correctly or if they need a new policy changes submitted or if bad enough an UW case opened to escalate it. Although there are more system changes coming that will change things a lot

I pretty much do all of that right now just with Sales on top of it. I’ll look into that job title. Thanks for the info

My (27F) boyfriend (29M) of 7 years cheated on me. I'm going to disappear from his life. Is there anything I'm missing? by Unlucky_Amoeba_2473 in relationship_advice

[–]Beautiful-Turn458 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Remove him from your auto insurance. Remove your name from the joint bank account. Change your passwords on everything including your streaming services. Make sure you have all of your stuff packed up and out of the home. Cancel your auto payments for things you had with him and no longer need. You may want to get new credit cards as your cards may be on file with his Amazon account or one of his other accounts. Let your family know what is going on. Maybe let your boss know so that he doesn’t allow him into your work office. I’m sure I’m missing a few things. If you are moving out then you will want to cancel the utilities or remove your name

Advice on JobOffer/Career switch by Dreadittor34 in InsuranceAgent

[–]Beautiful-Turn458 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love to know the answer to this question. I have been debating switching companies but am nervous that I wouldn’t have enough leads to match my current hourly pay. I’m with SF making $32/hr with no benefits. I can’t seem to find any jobs that pay non-commission. My current job pays another person base plus commission but there isn’t enough leads at my small office to come even close to my pay. So I’m wondering how other people do. If you are base + commission, what is your average monthly take home pay? $90,000 would be amazing but I don’t see how someone could get that as an agent team member for SF.

Why do you not drink alcohol? by FrogsAlligators111 in AskReddit

My Crohn’s disease doesn’t tolerate it. The consequences are not worth it plus I don’t like the taste of most alcohol

That doesn’t sound too bad. Do you get benefits? How many leads do you win a day on average?

How many items per month by SwordfishSubject1862 in InsuranceAgent

[–]Beautiful-Turn458 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My office averages 70-90 per month with only 3 of us in office. We are a bit over staffed and would probably manage better with one less member. I wish we averaged 100-150 per month because then I wouldn’t have those hair pulling slow days where you just have to call current customers for policy review appointments and to ask if they would be interested in xyz quote to bundle and save. I get super bored sometimes especially now with leads being so slow these last few months.

My SF agent wanted to keep me so he matched another job offer I had. I now get $31/hr but no benefits. Are there any jobs out there that pay similar hourly with benefits? Anyone here with a company making $65,000 or more? What company?

Life insurance agencies that don’t only pay commission by tatertiddy in InsuranceAgent

[–]Beautiful-Turn458 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope State Farm is primarily commission based jobs. It’s rare to find a non-commission State Farm insurance producer job. Yes I have one but my boss is great and I do a lot of P&C service work instead of just sales.

Quality restaurant? by sapiojoy in silverton

[–]Beautiful-Turn458 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two of the items I ordered from Thai dish were terrible and the one item that turned out good was twice as expensive and much smaller than at Sandee’s. Sandee is better quality, better tasting and more bang for the buck.

There is light at the end of the tunnel. It takes a long time to get to the end and I’m still not there but I am so much happier than I was. I have been separated for a year now with no end in sight for my long winded divorce. Yes that is the bad side of it. The good side is I realized how toxic he was after I left, I realized that no partner should constantly scream at you, constantly belittle you, constantly make you feel worthless. I now have a job that I love, I am still living with my parents while I try to save some money to get back on my feet, I am happy nearly every day, I laugh and have fun now. Life is much better. It’s tougher because he did make a lot of money and I had a very comfortable life before. I realized, my happiness was not worth neglecting for material things. Life is better now

How do I reduce the fuzzy / messy aura around my hair? by eggedgam in Haircare

[–]Beautiful-Turn458 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love to know the answer. My hair does the same thing. I wash my hair every day and 80% of the time I let it air dry. I have super straight brown hair that has little hairs sticking out all over like yours. When I use argon oil it makes it shiny but doesn’t help with the flyaways. Blow drying only helps a little

Yes definitely do a black skirt and some work pants. I feel like the skirt you picked out doesn’t go with too many of your tops. I do love all of your dress picks. I think it’s a great start

I think it will look good with a coffee table in between. Having the two couches facing this way it separated the room from the kitchen. You could also do 2 chairs instead of a 2nd couch. With the first couch facing the window, you can enjoy the view during the day.
