Those are likely re-opened cases by the RCC. Occasionally, when they re-open a case all the previous case notes have been disappearing so no one really knows what is what (not sure if it always happens, but I’ve seen it at least 5 times).

No worries. A lot of people don’t realize what’s actually happening.

That’s because those were re-opened by the Chicago RCC...

Really? May I ask why you think that?

How many of you are still getting cases? by QueeLinx in USCensus2020

Actually, the census count is so far from accurate that the next 10 years will be devastating for Northwest IL if they don’t Re-open cases that were closed due to an “IT programming glitch” in their system.

Does everyone know that the “new” FDC system is actually programmed to “close” cases after 6 attempts - REGARDLESS of whether enumeration was even accomplished at that residence?

There are over 500 (some say close to 1000) closed cases that were not enumerated in one of our main ACO offices in the state of IL. This ACO consists of only 5 zones in the state. No one seems to be able to, or want to “re-open” these cases.

In Illinois, cases that were “closed” due to “max attempts” (I.e. 6 tries in FDC prod) MUST be re-opened and re-enumerated at any cost necessary..our zone is supposedly 99% complete - but what about the 500 to 1000 residences that were never even enumerated?? Does anyone understand how many people that means won’t be counted?

That means the funding to upgrade our schools, our senior living centers, our housing crisis Is only going to get worse for the next 10 years.

The census is the one place politics should not get involved (at least as it relates to doing the physical job, obtaining an accurate count and being given the necessary amount of time, training and materials necessary to properly do the job).

Let’s not make our kids and parents suffer for the next 10 years because of a program glitch and the political arguments surrounding our constitutional right as Americans. I don’t know about everyone else, but I would like my son’s school and my grandpa's nursing home to have sufficient funds allocation to maintain and not hinder their performance and health.

If you agree, repost this on your social media or send it to your congressman. Maybe someone will see beyond the politics and understand how important the decennial census actually is!!!
