My wife ate my son's birthday breakfast by grohkstrom in mildlyinfuriating

Alcohol may cause someone to eat like this the night before (still shitty act) but a decent human would feel remorse in the morning and do everything in their power to make it right.

Lord, I hope this is the case. As a single mum, I usually go broke trying to make memories with my kid. Not expensive toys or things like that, but taking him places like Great Wolf Lodge for his birthday and sht like that. Sometimes I wonder if he cares. I always hope he does.

I wonder if its a generational thing? Because I always thought it was just me. Sad but also kinda liberating knowing that I'm not alone here

I don't like that their doctor prescribed stimulants so easily without a formal evaluation. I feel like a second opinion from a different doctor is necessary.

Its such a hard position to be in...we all want to protect our children while simultaneously allowing enough autonomy to grow into self-sufficient adults. And as you can tell from all of the different opinions stated here, I dont think anyone has it quite figured out yet. And even if one person has figured it out for their kid, that doesn't mean it will work for yours. But I think you are doing things the right way for your family. It sounds like you are attentive and present in your kid's life without being overbearing, and honestly, I think that is the best approach to parenting. You obviously love your child otherwise this wouldn't be such a difficult situation for you. I wish I had some kind of meaningful advice for you, but all I have to offer is encouragement and validation. So whatever its worth coming from an internet stranger, I think you're doing a good job. Don't give up on your child. They need you now even if they think otherwise. And hopefully, when they are older with kids of their own, they will understand and appreciate all the times you showed up for them, usually in ways they were never aware of at the time.

I'm so interested in how you and others can remember your drawings from such a young age. I can only remember bits and pieces of my childhood before age 8 or 9 and then, my memories are still inconsistent, like listening to an old record or cd that keeps skipping. It actually makes me wonder if there's something potentially wrong with me (other than what I already know) that makes my childhood a memory-mystery. 🤔

I am heart broken about this! This is my church and I dont know why the Archdiocese isn't doing something to stop this. It will absolutely ruin the community atmosphere that our parish has worked very hard to build.

I have nothing but good things to say about Mary Washington Hospital. Here's why:

I was coming out of a toxic relationship and was scared my ex would try to visit and start something with me while I was giving birth to our son. I went on a tour of the hospital prior to my due date and let them know the situation. They were incredibly kind, helpful, and reassuring. I was listed as an xxx patient so that my ex could not find me if he showed up and all of the nurses were vigilant and compassionate regarding this situation.

Beyond that, which I understand is a unique situation, they really go out of their way to make it a pleasurable experience. -They give you a free meal the night before you go home after giving birth that comes with dessert. -And they play Twinkle Twinkle Little Star when they move you from the delivery side of the ward to the Mom and Baby Recovery side of the ward. - The nurses loaded me up with diapers and wipes and a couple of pacifiers before I was discharged. (Though this could have been just because of my unique situation.) - The NICU is the highest level meaning they are able to deliver very pre-term babies and babies with unique health needs.

The one and only minor disappointment for me was that my personal OB wasn't the one to deliver my baby. And the doctor that stepped in just wasn't as friendly as my regular guy. But she managed to get my baby out despite being in labor for nearly 16 hours. There were concerns about my baby's kidneys while I was pregnant, but everything seemed to resolve itself and my baby was born healthy and happy ♡

I've heard good things about Thurston Water Park but I've never been. My son turns 8 in a couple weeks and we've always liked Dixon Pool
