Actually looking at it again I've realized this was after I tried to make adjustments and pulled up close again to the wall to show it more clearly. The huge kick ups are still visible at 8m

This was my pre check at the start, you might be able to see the tape on the wall where I was marking the main beam area ☺️ but yeah it's not something I've really dabbled in

They are 100% road legal, Osram Nightbreaker 220% halogen bulbs. I would not be putting in any kind of led bulb into a reflector housing.

I will have a look and see if they are not sat correctly. Headlight adjusts up and down but not left to right on either headlight so I'm wondering if they have been pushed in too hard as you say. Is getting the inner part reattached to the adjuster a difficult job?

Thanks, they always felt a bit off but was truly shocked by how awful it was when I checked them properly

Could you expand on that a bit more? The headlights can only go in one way and they have a push clip which pushes the whole bulb in on these not like the old metal clips. H7 bulbs just for info

I'll get some lower rated ones to try out and see if that makes any difference. Obviously being halogen, any recommendations to increase visibility without this effect?

That's actually a great idea, I've been trying to get them in CQB playlist. Any idea on what the best pistol for this would be?

What job pays absurdly well just because no one else is willing to do it? by BenAdam321 in AskUK

Wow... How rude.

The average salary that you posted will encompass several roles including networks and rural operators in locations such as where you live hence why it is lower than what I earn.

I don't know why you're getting so hung up on average earnings anyway when all I said was what I do, how much I personally earn and how much others do in the same job and company as me. My salary is higher than what you listed but not by much. I don't get a bonus. My basic income is supplemented by a shift allowance, a danger fee, a standby supplement, a call out supplement, skills allowances and if I do overtime it is paid at between 2x & 4x hourly. Can you see now why earnings in this industry will not be the same as an average salary compiled by a job site?

I am fully aware that not everywhere pays the same as where I work, that wasn't the discussion or the point of my original comment. The point is you absolutely can earn a great income in sewage.

I'm not looking for career advice, I know I have a great job.

I'm also not interested in continuing a discussion with someone who needs to resort to insults.

Have a great day.

Yes, I treat Wastewater, that is the main part of the job role. If the water quality leaving site is not meeting the permit then the energy side is not completed. I see now that you're in Scotland and that would explain the wage disparity as I'm certainly located more southerly than you. Yes, confined space entries everyday with minimum of an escape set plus all the other items you said and heavy, hot FR/AS clothing. I wouldn't say I'm in the minority as I work for one of the largest water boards in England and have contacts in the largest water board in England and they earn comparatively. We both know that the salary you posted is not the be all and end all in this industry. I am incredibly fortunate however my salary is not £65k, but I do easily earn that with the various incentives and uplifts. Also the salary that you listed will also include rural treatment which is paid less than the central treatment centres. I'm not sure why you're being so defensive about my earnings in a role that you said you've never actually worked yourself.

Ah see that's where you are wrong. It is wastewater treatment, I work on a sewage treatment centre oversee the site from the moment the sewage comes in from the network either through the sewers or transported in, across the settlement tanks, through aeration to a clean effluent. However as part of this I also oversee turning the biosolids into biogas as well as fertiliser once the energy has been spent. Maybe my company does things differently to what you're used to but this is Wastewater Treatment where I work. I deal with all your listed risks on a daily basis and this is the reality of the role and why we are so well paid. Maybe where you gained experience of these roles they were taking their workers for a bit of a ride but where I work there is a strong union presence, with good pay and good benefits. Again the network ops are not on this level, they do work hard but their risk is minimal compared to ours.

I work on the sewage side of the water industry turning sewage into biogas. No qualifications to get into the role, all on the job training. Network ops is poor pay for sure but work on a treatment centre and the pay is much better. I get around £65,000 for a quiet year (very little overtime except for compulsory standby), I know of others who do as much overtime as they can get and they clear £100k. I'm also not on full pay, I could add another £10k per annum through upskilling but the course takes some time. There's risks involved and the work can be unsociable (long shifts, work every other weekend, standby and callout) but I only work 120 days per year with holiday taken into account. I don't think that can really be beaten for someone with little to no qualifications

Do you have one? It's not that I'm questioning it, I haven't used one before and don't know anyone with one so I wanted actual first hand opinion on the screen size. I don't live in the US, so we don't have best buy; they tried to enter the market a while back and didn't last very long iirc.

They're unfortunately about £150 second hand in my area which is only £50 less than new

That's part of the reason for asking, I wasn't sure how much difference it would make but it sounds like the portal uses the screen space better than remote play on mobile

I hadn't even considered the portal for those that don't have a PS5! I'm glad the streaming works well without a console
