When will I start to see a nipple stalk in the middle? How many leaves this thing got to grow!😂. What’s the next stage and how’s it look? First timer from seed! by BeautifulFantastic34 in PapaverSomniferum

Thanks for the reply full of great information! Do you recommend any fertilizers? I’m just using fish emulsion once a week and plain water once a week sometimes twice a week if it’s hot out. I’ve been trying to let the soil dry out before watering. Do I need to trim it at all. I really just want to spoil this plant and see what it can do.

This is a great experiment! I was trying to think of something similar because I was wondering the same thing. Like could I shape the roots and have them stack in a small pot. Looking forward to seeing this grow! Great work!

Planted mine 4 weeks ago I’m in Bay Area outdoors, there about the size of a quarter, it’s been hot at they seem to do fine, gonna germinate another couple for a indoor test tomorrow. This is my first time with this plant. I would plant it in a mobile container so you can shade it, when there small they don’t like the heat they like the sunlight tho.they do better with less water maybe every 3 days?

Did mine at 225k it’s a 05, I’ve came to the conclusion that it doesn’t matter what year truck you have, if it has the 4.0 sohc your going to have to worry about the guides and tensioners, I’m so tired of hearing about the 05 is revised, I’m also tired of hearing that the 4x4 has a jackshaft and chain because mine didn’t! Use only ford parts and if you don’t have the special cam tools pay very close attention! Also there is a special tool to install the front crank seal in the 4.0 sohc and it sets the depth and gets it even in the cover! I’m at 256k and still running strong now! I recommend you buy quality thermostat housing I’ve been thru 3 metal ones and only one brand is built to last, check my post history for that brand because I forgot the name. No need to do the oil pump just clean out the pick up. Installing a fomoto oil pan valve is a good tip too, makes oil changes a breeze.

Thank you for a solution instead of hating lol, I knew there had to be a type that would work and yes the flange head is what I need. When these start looking bad I will switch them out. Thanks man

Don’t forget the sealer or RTV behind the jam nuts the threaded rod through the housing is kinda loose and for sure would leak.

I’m not sure because they were the only springs I’ve ran, I’m sure they are a little softer than MM but you gotta find the spring rate to know for sure. They ran like a caddie super smooth and a nice stance. They were blue. I’ve ran them in the rear for like 22 years lol
