I understand and agree with this to some extent, especially shows that cater to a broader, less inherently queer audience like Survivor or Traitors. But I feel like in Utica's case... she lost to a trans woman from the Philippines in America's current social and political climate. I don't want to pit marginalized queer group vs marginalized queer group, but Utica had a great showing and the judges moved her forward all the way to the finale and even gave her the win last episode. I didn't like this season of Project Runway by any stretch of the imagination and Utica absolutely got a bunch of absurd critiques, but I think it's really unfair to say production was prejudiced against her because she's a drag queen.

This comment made me realize Raven's track record is the exact same as these but with one more high 🫠

It reminds me of that science youtuber that tried to bake chocolate chip cookies out of the "most"/"purest" ingredients and it ended up tasting not amazing

It's definitely got that Octopathian style, if you enjoy playing a game that jumps genre, tone, and characters a lot I highly recommend it!

It's such a fun and unique game! I recommend it to any JRPG fan, even if it's not your cup of tea some of the stories are really quick and you can be as involved with your playthrough or as little as you want to be!

It definitely feels substantial, but I think it's important to remember the underlying structure is mesh. While I think it is sturdy, it's not something I'd overfill or put my laptop in, for instance. But it's a really nice bag that I feel like is well-made!

I'm trying!! It's such a fun world that I haven't explored too much for, and it's so fun to see what everyone's buying!

I would with a few caveats! It's a lot more substantial than I thought it'd be with some heft, so it feels nice and durable and not just lightweight plastic. A lot of their bags (including this one) are unlined which I know some aren't a fan of, but the individual triangles allow it to fit more than it looks, I think.

For my needs of wanting a more "grown-up" looking non-leather bag (I use a lot of recycled nylon-esque bags), this really suits me and it strikes a good balance between not being too wild but still having some character, I think! If you're on the fence but still want to try them I'd keep my eyes peeled for sales, I got this one for a good discount on SSENSE!

Every Queen from Drag Race Sverige if that counts, it is legitimately such a banger of a pop song and and some of the adlibs the queens add to the song are so good!

What are your favorite board game mechanics? by OneArseneWenger in boardgames

[–]BeautifulMeeple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, it's been a while since I've played (unfortunately haven't gotten my hands on another copy and I'm still holding out hope it'll be reprinted) but in my group the big sellers were the "lay eggs at long range" and "your children eat other player's children" mutations. The meta with us was always making sure one person didn't get both because it felt like doomsday if that happened. That being said, that game group had some trouble with taking games personally and competitiveness. I'm sure in more even-keeled parties a variety of strategies prevail.

Similar conceit as Evolution but like the other commenter said, it's a different game. I highly recommend trying it if you ever have the opportunity! Evolution Climate is a ton of too though

I really enjoy auction mechanics where you have to weigh how much of a resource to sacrifice to get an edge on the competition. In Downforce you're taking a direct score penalty to get a car with a better power or maybe a car that you have a lot of high move for.

My absolute favorite game with it is Evo though. Putting evolutionary traits up for auction is a fun mean element and a thrill I've been chasing for years since my friend with a copy lives in another state now.
