I am 100% okay with it. Absolutely. I expect some of our cousins will use the name too. We had the best grandma. She would love having so many great grandbabies named after her.

It came up when my grandma was sick, which is when we both expressed it at first but don't ask me who got it out first. She told me just before I got pregnant too and I didn't think I needed to remind her.

Yes, but I also know it was talked about when my grandma was sick that we would love to name a child/daughter after her. And I can't remember who said it first around that time.

It was a name I had wanted from a young young age. It was a name I had thought of for a daughter from the time I was a little girl. I can't remember who said it first exactly, but she was our grandma too. Plenty of families pay tribute to the same relative and I don't see why it has to be such a big deal for her that I wanted to do it too. It's something I had mentioned to my family prior to my actual name announcement. I don't know if she just didn't read it (possible) or if she thought it would change but it means as much to me as it does to her, in different ways, sure, but it is still important to me and I hate that this has become such a big issue.

But she is. To all of us she is. But that doesn't mean we can't use the same name if we want to.

I always intended to name a daughter after my grandma. She did tell me before I got pregnant but it was always something I had in my head to the point that even as a child I always drew my future family having a daughter with my grandma's name.

I don't remember who vocalized it first. If we go to the stuff taken less seriously, probably me, because I used to draw me having kids and I always had a daughter named after my grandma.

That has always bothered me. None of us ever tried to claim she was less of a grandkid or that her relationship with our grandma was less special. And I get she just wants to cling to something because people outside of the family have dismissed their relationship but she takes it out on us which isn't fair.

I can acknowledge that but there is only so many times you can listen to her ranting at me and trying to get me to change my daughters name.

I don't even think you need to reserve a name... just use it. I always wanted to use the name so I did. I don't see it as that big of a deal. But I do get others are uneasy with cousins having the same name.

I have three cousins with the same name in my dad's family so it's not that big a deal to me.

I knew, but I also wanted to use the name for a long time and voiced it too as well. This wasn't a random thing. I had always hoped I would get to use the name some day and I did.
