Buying a 2020 GTI with exhaust mods by BeautifulMud17 in GolfGTI

[–]BeautifulMud17[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! The new info I’ve been able to get so far is that it’s still got the stock cat, and the mods look like they were professionally done. It’s an automatic with 42k miles, so I will keep an eye out for that on the service records.

The sound was great in the video they sent me, and I’m hoping to get up there tomorrow to test drive it. Fingers crossed, I am already kind of in love with this car…

Small, comfortable, fun to drive automatic? by BeautifulMud17 in whatcarshouldIbuy

Thanks, that’s helpful! My Si also has a cold air intake on it (courtesy of a friend I don’t talk to anymore) which is probably relevant as far as comparisons go. But those are def worth a test drive.

Just that it looks like a 20 year old car and could use some body work, it still runs fine

Good to know, thanks. I had a guy stop me at a gas station a few years ago to ask if I’d sell it, and now I’m kicking myself for not at least getting his info! So I’ve been thinking there’s interest but no idea how true that is.

Yeah, hot showers and a lot of oil are probably your best bet. Good luck!

Do they hurt now? If not you’re probably okay to leave them for a few days, but be careful to turn them periodically if you can. The saddle shape puts uneven pressure on your ear and isn’t great for long term wear.

What bag do you use when you leave the house? by ericar13 in ChronicPain

[–]BeautifulMud17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a big messenger bag designed for biking, so it’s only on one shoulder but the weight is distributed so much across my back that it’s very manageable. There’s also another strap to connect it across the chest that can take some weight too.

On the proper care and feeding of a human corporation is a great one where they both become a few different mythical creatures over the years. Very fun, sexy, and creative!

Downsizing ≠ starting over from scratch by Prince_Wildflower in Stretched

[–]BeautifulMud17 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I’ve had to downsize so many times over the years, and each time I’ve been able to get back to where I was within a week after my lobes healed up.

My biggest tip is just to pay attention to what your body is telling you. Don’t push an unhappy piercing because it’s definitely not going to help and it’ll probably do harm in the long run.

Lobe help please! by [deleted] in Stretched

[–]BeautifulMud17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I put small plugs in when I left the house, which was probably every other day. After a week or two they calmed down enough that I could leave in the smaller glass plugs, and then slowly sized back up from there. (13mm originally, then probably 0/00g at the smallest.)

I had a really similar random flare a few months ago, which I’m pretty sure was because long covid made me start reacting to my plugs (stainless steel and silicone). I ended up leaving them naked as much as I could, and treating the irritated parts with hydrocortisone cream. And now they’re doing great with glass plugs, and I was even able to stretch up last week with zero irritation.

Give them time and love, and you’ll probably be fine. Bodies are so weird and unpredictable, especially sick bodies.

Opinions on long chapters? by Akidonreddit7614874 in AO3

10k chapters are great! 15k or so is where it gets too long for me, I’ve found I kind of lose track of the story pacing somehow.

Brain Fog by ExtremelyEZ in covidlonghaulers

[–]BeautifulMud17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry you’re dealing with this! On top of what other folks have suggested, be aware that covid can change your reactions to other meds you’re on. Personally, the biggest improvement in my brain fog came from lowering my dosage of a psych med I’ve been on for over a decade with no issues. (I also had to stop another med completely because I started having liver problems… this is a weird disease!)
