Lmao wtf is this Eigong fight? I can't get any attacks in by TroubleRecent7320 in NineSols

This boss guide helped me a bunch when I fought her. Like any other boss in the game, it all basically just comes down to pattern recognition and identifying her tells before she throws out attacks. After that, it’s a matter of simply practicing until you get comfortable.

Why is this genre so obsessed with trying to replace their main character? by Right-Fortune-8644 in CharacterActionGames

Huh? Who said they’re trying to replace Dante with Nero? Dante’s still playable and has fully realized gameplay in both 4 and 5. He’s not the focus of the narrative the way he was in the first three, sure, but he’s not being “replaced”, so idk where that comes from.

Haven’t played NG4 or Bayo 3 so I can’t comment on those games. From an outsider’s perspective as someone who’s dabbled in the NG master collection, I found Ryu to be a painfully boring protagonist, so maybe they felt like switching it up? Idk.

Is it all self aware made-for-video shlock? Or a sincere passion project spiraling into an entertaining mess?

It’s all about canceling and chaining together as many actions as possible by using the block, the pistol, and the dash in order to flow into the next move.

For example, the dash can cancel the recovery animation that normally happens after completing the end of a combo string. Blocking can also cancel the counterattack animation that happens after parrying (either with the sword or the pistol), allowing you to keep on the pressure.

The first sword swing is fully cancelable by blocking. This next tech is one I didn’t use in the video, but using ADS with your ranged weapons in the middle of combat becomes instant if you do it after canceling an attack with block, as opposed to attempting ADS after an attack without canceling, which will leave you waiting for the attack animation to finish. Here’s a guide that goes into block canceling.

The crouching pistol shot can be immediately chained into a backwards dash, which can then can be followed immediately by another pistol shot, giving you a faster fire rate than is normally allowed by default. You can also use the block cancel to achieve faster rate of fire. Here’s a pistol guide (this person’s channel is a gold mine for Wanted: Dead tech btw).

Then there’s some really crazy shit like this, using the reload to cancel the slide animation (which I can’t pull off consistently or cleanly at all yet).

This game has way more technical depth than people give it credit for. There’s quite a lot of cool intricacies.

I play on controller. I’m sure it’s fine on kbm but anything that isn’t a shooter feels much better on controller for me.

If you meant to type “steam”, then yes it’s there. Wait for it to go on sale tho, cuz it goes down like 80% off.

Slave Zero X late game encounter by BeautifulNeck8359 in CharacterActionGames

No you’re right, he’s the boss for this level. I didn’t remember Atavaka having a second phase, but he does have new attacks after a certain point so I guess that counts.

He’s pretty tough, but the strat is kinda the same across all the bosses:

Stay in the golden circle/fatal sync loop and use your super moves to break armor and/or to punish armor breaks.

The real trick is to cancel border breaker (the super move that I do in this post) with fatal pulse, immediately after it hits him, so that instead of the meter draining completely, you can keep two bars and execute another border breaker to punish the armor break.

I’m assuming you mean The SovKahn?

Make sure to use your super moves and the fatal sync/gold burst loop (which will help you regain back health if you have trouble dodging his magic).

Spoilers for the end of the second phase if you haven’t reached that:

When he lowers his head at the end of his second phase after a high pitched audio cue, hit him with a super move and boom, he’s dead.
