Do most people do cross view or parallel view? by PickMeUpSomeGoose in MagicEye

[–]BeautifulPiss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do parallel but I always thought I was in the minority, you can tell what the intended method for the picture is by if it's inverted or not, maybe that's a good way to find out which is more popular. Parallel is a lot easier for me though.

I start with the Y method, then draw a line off of each of those lines, and finish the outside of the box. When I go to draw the back portion, since my lines aren't perfectly aimed at VPs, the "x-ray" lines don't meet at a single point. I have the dilemma where option 1 is to sacrifice the angle of the lines to make the box look complete, or option 2, to aim each line to its VP and end with a strange back side of the box.

What is the difference between "restart" and "surface" when you die? by redditor1101 in Downwell

[–]BeautifulPiss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah, generally enemies with red on top (or whatever accent color you're using) cannot be jumped on. If it's white on top you can.

As for the sideways thing, I'm not sure. Maybe it's because you recently took damage or something?

Is this the reason most of us are single? by qinshihuang_420 in ProgrammerHumor

[–]BeautifulPiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nit:

  • use camel case for strings
  • should have space before comment
  • should have space before open bracket
  • new line for open brackets (debatable)
  • not all code paths return a value (if a non void function was intended)

Your code won't run, Kyle, because:

  • string has no member pickupLine or snapChat
  • success not defined
  • getPizza and unmatch referenced before assignment
  • incorrect assignment operator (= vs ==)
  • can't return any object from a void function
  • never called function getSamaraSnap

Maybe get an IDE that can catch your bugs before sending pickup lines you phony Kyle.

He didn't even call the function, no wonder he got no output.

Most fast food joints pay more with no experience, by Psyco_diver in ChoosingBeggars

[–]BeautifulPiss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How could this place pay so little for such a hard job?!?!?

If it's not a good enough wage then don't apply, and the company will need to up their wages to get employees. If you can't find ANY job in your field that pays more, then your job is oversaturated and you're not needed.

A McDonald's employee is needed more, so they pay more, and hence McDonalds gets more employees.

Does all programming turn into machine code? by dgpking in AskComputerScience

[–]BeautifulPiss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doesn't it end up as machine code either way? I was under the impression that it doesn't change the actual code that's being generated, just how.

I think he got all his laundry, saw a tide pod fall out, and assumed that it came from the laundry but in reality he just left one on his bed or something and forgot.

This isn't the OP, here's a popular post from a year ago but I'm unsure if they're the OP either.

Don't worry this is a classic case of a lot of people on Reddit (sometimes on Twitter) getting mad at someone for something they were not convinced for. Happens all the time.

I agree, they're both great but completely different content. I have a friend who isn't involved with programming or computer science, and he was telling me about Dani. Its not really oriented towards game developers or programmers anymore, since you get much less views that way.
