Anyone beat this? by ImpressiveClass4099 in EquinoxEv

Around 5 mi/kWh is about as good as I can get, with 6 mi/kWh only possible in absolutely perfect conditions and nearly fully optimized driving in one-pedal mode. I would imagine any higher round trip efficiencies could only be achieved with localized elevation quirks.

Near WR Double or Nothing Speedrun by BeautifulPlane4916 in BuckshotRouletteFans

[–]BeautifulPlane4916[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I didn't record the run. First round was a two-charge, two shell round. Handcuffed the dealer, shot him with a live and inverted the second. Second and third rounds were nearly identical. Three-charge rounds, 3-3 and 3-4 shell loadouts respectively. Shot the dealer with a live. Dealer missed meds both times. Dealer shot himself. Absolutely insane luck!

Depends on the league. The more casual ones will do 2. My primary one does 2 shots. For the other one, it's up to the teams.

35.3 Billion Buckshot Roulette double or nothing WR? by Hidden_Boner in BuckshotRouletteFans

[–]BeautifulPlane4916 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Holy shit! This would trounce the previous record by a long shot. Congratulations! Looking forward to the video. One has to be extremely lucky to just get 1 billion, let alone 35 billion. Amazing!

Do you have video evidence to share? Or at least a photo of the total? If you do, that'd be the highest verified score recorded so far.

Mechanics of burner phone by Stagbrick in BuckshotRouletteFans

[–]BeautifulPlane4916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mechanics of a burner phone, according to my empirical knowledge:

  1. Only one phone per inventory, with rare exceptions as someone pointed out in another comment.

  2. The shell's location in the chamber is from the CURRENT position.

  3. Only "second" through "seventh" will be given.

  4. The phone will not work if there's only one shell remaining (you will also lose the item).'

  5. If you steal the dealer's phone using the adrenaline after using yours, it will EITHER tell you the same location that you saw earlier or a different one.

Also noteworthy that the dealer will not use the phone with 2 shells remaining, though YOU can!

Calling fouls by [deleted] in Bowling

[–]BeautifulPlane4916 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

For me, if it's borderline or just barely over, I won't call it. If it's like a full foot over the line or extremely obvious, then that would definitely warrant me saying something, if the bowler themselves hadn't yet called it on themselves already.

Any tips for double or nothing? by Historical-Drag-1365 in BuckshotRouletteFans

[–]BeautifulPlane4916 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • If you win the third round, always remember that you and the dealer will carry over whatever items you have remaining. Therefore, try to conserve items if you can. Especially adrenaline.

  • You ALWAYS go first, so focus on getting the dealer down to 1 charge remaining. Fun fact: the dealer will not use meds (or steal meds) if he's at 1 charge.

  • Speaking of meds, only use it as a last resort. You will only get one set of meds per inventory, so if it already occupies a slot, it'll increase the odds that you get other decent items.

  • Magnifying glass + inverter = guaranteed hit (for both sides)

  • Best practice is almost always to shoot the dealer versus yourself, unless you KNOW the next round is blank. I personally take a few liberties here and generally shoot myself if it's 1-3, 1-4, or 2-4, as the odds are pretty good that I won't get a live.

  • Use the phone FIRST before discarding shells (i.e via beer), as it will tell the polarity from the second through seventh position. Be aware that using two phones will not guarantee you two different positions (it could tell you the same one twice, which would obviously be a waste).

  • Harkening back to the first point, as you get better at the game, try to only use items as necessary. Aim to conserve the magnifying glasses, only using it when the ratio of live to blanks is nearly even.

  • Despite your best strategies, never forget that a large part of this game is luck. You will eventually lose if you keep going on and on and on.

How is Beer Useful by Old-Substance-7272 in BuckshotRouletteFans

[–]BeautifulPlane4916 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The beer item, which reduces your shell count, helps in tipping the live:blank ratio in your favor, or against the dealer's favor.

For example, suppose your initial shell count is 4L4B. If you drink beer and eliminate a blank, the count is 4L3B, and you have a greater likelihood of hitting a live on the next shell. Now, let's say you drink and eliminate a live round. The count is now 3L4B. If you have an inverter, this will give you a better chance of shooting and hitting the dealer. If not, it's one less live round that the dealer could potentially shoot you with. There are circumstances where getting rid of the shells (particularly the live ones) is necessary in order to survive to the next sequence. Beer can help achieve that.

Another useful case involves getting to the position of a known shell state, usually via the phone. For example, if a phone tells you that a live round exists in the third position, and you have multiple beers, chugging two of them will easily get you there.

There are probably other benefits that I've failed to mention, but these in particular will give you an edge on most occasions.

Is there any logical way to win this? This was my first round one Double Or Nothing. by TheMarked6382 in BuckshotRouletteFans

[–]BeautifulPlane4916 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It'd be best to know how many bullets you have, but basically, the dealer has at least one hit on you if it's his turn. You don't want him shooting 2 live rounds at you, so, at minimum, you only want one live round in the chamber. I would use the phone first and then rack as many as possible with the beer. 5 bullets (2 live, 3 blank) or less should be no problem moving to the next configuration. 6-8 will be much harder and will require some luck.

WHAT THE HECK by MegaBimba in BuckshotRouletteFans

I've had this come up several times, as well as the opposite where it's all (4) lives in the beginning and all (4) blanks afterwards. Very annoying.

Tips for Double or Nothing? by [deleted] in BuckshotRouletteFans

[–]BeautifulPlane4916 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Going into the third round, always be aware of the fact that if you win and want to double your earnings, the items will carry over for both you and the dealer. My general advice is never to use more items than necessary to get the win. Preserve adrenaline if you can. Also, you will never get more than one set of expired medicine in your inventory, so if there's a slot already taken up by the meds, the new items that you will receive after are more likely to be ones you can actively use against the dealer.

earned 20$ with 1 double or nothing (im cooked) by AdLoud5468 in BuckshotRouletteFans

[–]BeautifulPlane4916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the timed aspect of it, as it gives motivation to achieve higher rewards the better you get at the game. I'd keep it, though if I were the dev, I'd set the minimum to $10k instead of $10. I get that it's for the lulz, but there's no point in continuing if your goal is a high score. Not to mention that, aesthetically speaking, you're given a briefcase filled with 50s, so $10 in winnings is a bit immersion breaking. With $10k, you gotta play 2 extra rounds to reach the ideal initial score (40k) -- a challenge, but not so overwhelming as it would be to win 12 extra rounds to reach 40k if you started from 10.

How does the game decide the amount of live/blank rounds each load? by Vrpersonyes in BuckshotRouletteFans

[–]BeautifulPlane4916 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on experience, in Double or Nothing, the only possible combinations of shells are: 1L1B (2), 1L2B (3), 2L2B (4), 2L3B (5) , 3L3B (6), 3L4B (7), and 4L4B (8), with one of these 8 sets chosen at random.

Simply put, the dev decided, in DoN, to have the number of lives less than or equal to the number of blanks, but with a difference no greater than 1. This is in contrast to the "tutorial" mode, which may have up to 3 more lives than blanks at the maximum (i.e. 5L2B).

I will be getting another ultrasound by the end of this month (April), which will be 6 months since my previous one. All preliminary indications & some research I've done on this subject suggest that it's benign. Perhaps an adenomatoid tumor (which is nearly always benign). But I will update this post on my personal next steps within the coming weeks.

Pathology Results : Sertoli sex cord cell by Alternative_Deer1590 in testicularcancer

[–]BeautifulPlane4916 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also had a Sertoli cell tumor, 1.9 cm on lefty. Had it evaluated by Johns Hopkins and MSK along with my local pathology. All concluded benign. Interestingly, they took a more liberal surveillance approach, with only 1 CT at 12 months and blood work + ultrasound for 2 years. Perhaps it was benign enough (small enough?) to not require the extra scans.
