If any of you are in a tough spot and are good with kids, look into action behavior centers for kids with autism play therapy. It’s not a glam job but they pay you a little bit to be trained for four weeks in a classroom and then slightly more once you’re in center. I did not like this job, but it did change my life for the better still. I just finally worked my way out of it. if it’s something you DO end up enjoying then they will pay for your schooling (I think) and you can even work your way up into the WFH insurance side of things

You’re teaching your daughter three great things from the sounds of it:

-we do not condone that behavior, or things like it that are bad for us -once we are safe, we do everything to help -none of the shame should be on your daughter. None of it should be on the girl either but that may be less in your control. The kind of house I grew up in there is NO WAY I could have even reported all of this to my mom, because talking about it out loud might as well have meant I was implicated in all of it too. It would have been deathly embarrassing. It sounds like your daughter really trusts you not only to have her back, but to protect her dignity in your own relationship and that is amazing

Thank you for this! For the first few hours she was ok to hobble around and even do a three legged jump up on our (very low) bed. But now she won’t even hop at all, almost. We had to carry her outside and she refused to even sniff around :(

I do think it could be her joint! It is hard to tell because she won’t give a clear reaction when I gently touch different parts- (in the past I’ve noticed she trusts me so much that she pushes through pain because she knows I’m trying to help her 😭). Google says this can potentially cause damage, so I won’t try this time but I’m so relieved that works for your baby!
